By ambient occlusion i thought you were using 3D software like maya, or modo, zbrush, etc....

Hi Brandon, i really enjoy watching your work on colors for spacefrog! Do you think working shadows and light over the color is faster than painting in the color using effects and multiples colors? Sorry for my english... hope you understand what i mean. ;-) Best!!!

I think that being less cartoony then usual there's no helping it looking a bit more plastic to your eyes in the end.
These different techniques are most inspiring, although I'm unsure of this: can I think of ambient occlusion as having the character in a really dark/small place?
If that were the case I think the laser should prove really interesting if it were some kind of lightsource
