Visit gschultz9 on Facebook: www.facebook.com/gschultz9/ My original "Astronaut Food" review: https://youtu.be/_JKST6XE_Gc Trying out Astronaut Ice Cream with my kids: https://youtu.be/OMKhpHSQI70 Food-For-Space: https://food-for-space.com/ Russian Space Food Site: http://spacefoodlaboratory.com/ Here's a look at something a bit more like REAL astronaut or space food than the stuff found at science museum gift shops like the Astronaut Space Dinner and Astronaut Ice Cream that I've reviewed in the past. This is food in tubes that is sold by the website food-for-space.com in Russia. It's commercially available, but supposedly made by the same people that make genuine space food!

Pause at 21:00 and you will answer your own question?
"Does this have Tomatoe in it?" Check the third ingredient... Now I don't read Russian, but 'TOMEHOE' is close enough to Tomato(e) to me. -
Pukka vid man...of course, prior to 2000 there was only 3 monkeys 2 lab rats and a cat on the ISS.....

-
you can say an MRE reviewer is very dedicated to his job when he shows all the info on the package even tho it seems like gibberish to him

Very cool! If I were you, I might've massaged the tubes a bit to mix up the contents. Too bad they have no vegan options or I'd order one myself, lol! Cheers!
-
So space food is basically baby food
-
approved not in space. correctly translated - approved by service "Roscosmos"

Great video! But for real, I have to tell you... That $249 pack is a much more complete selection of real Russian astronaut food... Yes, I mean those canned foods!
If you watch NASA's live stream from the space station, you will often got chance to see the Russian meal table, which have heating slots on it to heat up the canned food for Russian astronaut. For what I have seen so far, their main meals are in those cans, and I haven't seen them eat the tubed food that much... Or I might just be missing out on it since NASA don't really streaming about the Russians and their meal time :D
On other hand, the US astronaut food are combination of both freeze dry item and pre-packed MRE style main. The US astronaut will simply add water to the FD vege pack and drink pack, then heat up the main with their heat-plate suitcase... And they really isn't eating that much at all, the size of their meals are tiny as... So when you are welcoming the returning astronauts... Remember to bring them some great food that they might be missing for months. -
