Tony I love your videos! They are fascinating, well-crafted and passionate. But I have to know - where does "Just like downtown" come from??
-
Panswhatnia?
-
So, your assertion about Darwin disproving panspermia is mere gossip.
-
first off my comment had nothing to verify. i dont have time to go and look it up when the internet is at your fingertips
-
I'm with Frank Later on this one and even if Darwin did discount panspermia as a possibility modern biologists do not.
-
I wasn't expecting a positive answer, because I am sure you don't have the information, since it's a fabriaction. Next time, verify such claims before repeating them. In the real world you have to be prepared to back up your claims with evidence. Only in the mythical world of religion are people allowed to get away with unfounded assertions.
-
y dont you try looking it up your self if your really wanting to know
-
Please provide me book, chapter, and paragraph of where Darwin disproves panspermia.
-
Great Video, Tony :-) #95 was awesome too! :-) By the way, have you considered what you'd do for your landmark 100th SFN installment? A suggestion; How about... a special one about the massive enlightening accomplishments of Kepler, and an update on the progress of the JWT? :-)

Army of text? I replied to you ONCE when you asked me a question. You must be delusional or maybe you have a "suborn mind" whatever that means. Must be an Australian thing. G'day mate!
-
its the conceptual flaw that you seem incapable of getting your suborn mind around. These are estimates not facts. If you cant understand this please dont bother to send another army of text my side, tx.

The cautious part of me agrees with Hawking. We are still in our astronomical infancy. Almost by definition, any civilization advanced enough to respond to our shout-out is likely to define us as life not worthy of equality. How many would we consider malevolent? It only takes one. I agree with Michio Koku. We are a type 0 star system, with type 1 defining a whole planet energy model, type 2 defining a solar ysystem energy model and a type 3 a galactic energy model. Gulp! Are we food? labor?

Thank you for your videos, they're very interesting!

great show..subbed

Tony, can you tell us how the heck the "weight" of a black hole is measured? I mean, you can't be talking about the kind of weight that depends on gravity, can you?
-
Thank you very much for sharing your passions with us, great work!!! Considering the power associated with black-holes, the consumption rate, when compared using sun seems unimpressive :) "Can be seen all the way back to shortly after the universe first formed" - Pretty much the definition of our egocentric believes when it comes to exploration until we prove ourself wrong, I can't wait for a new fresh look at our surroundings/universe and that next big discovery!!!!

It's one of my favorite subjects but I won't be pursuing it for a career. I'm just doing some minor classes out of interest. I plan on going into conservation biology career wise. Saving what's left of the planet and all that :)
-
The one thing thats always puzzled me is, are black holes a solid object like a dense planet of destroyed space stuff?...or are they just a hole that goes from the top of a galaxy to the bottom...if its the latter...where does all the matter go?
-
I totally agree here. My astronomy professor is still trying to get me to consider going for astrobiology but it's a fringe science at the moment and the technology won't exist to really start probing the right questions for a good number of years. The panspermia theory sounds ludicrous to me. Not to say it isn't possible but I really doubt it and the theory just serves to confound the origins of life even further without bringing anything to the table. DSI expeditions will help in the future

Thank you. Yes, I misunderstood what SETI was actually claiming. As they continue to search and fail over the next decade, those odds will decline dramatically until they approach my estimate of 1 in 100 octillion, heretofore known as "The Butt Number", owing to it's origins. :)
