Space Dance (Wall-E) - East West Quantum Leap Symphony Orchestra [EWQL]
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Video is taken from the original cartoon Wall-E. Music is composed solely by me. This was the contest clip in one score writing competition I participated in. We had to write original scores for this clip. Now I share this with you :)

Well just as a little advice. Next time try to find and hear what the original music was. That way you can think, "I’ll try to use some of the ideas", or "how can I make a score almost as good going the opposite way" etc. I think the best thing you can learn hearing at the original one is the way a very simple modal melody works for the whole tune. Also the way minimalist ideas work, Thomas Newman is a minimalist composer so it’s pretty cool how minimalist ideas and a lot of sound designing work

@gabomedellin2 Believe it or not, but I had never heard original music for this motion picture, so I was unbiased :) I was thinking of a little different composers when I wrote this piece. But of course I believe the original must have been better. The next competition was to score a clip from LOTR, so yeah, we had tough times overcoming originals.

Well I think it’s a nice work. But I also think the contest organizers where a little unfair due to the fact that the original music of that part of the movie is an incredible well written and produced piece composed by Thomas Newman which for me is one of his best works and the best piece of the movie. So, well, if you know how the original sound, is hard not to compare.
