Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Medley v1 [Synthesia] as of July 7, 2014. {Work may be subject to further alterations.} Edit: Seems like the audio was clipped some places - such as 1:59 (missing G) Edit 2: The midi articulation is limited and occasionally misleading - such as 5:34 - 5:44 (the G5 shouldn't be simultaneous while the A5 key should be tied down) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sometimes, there are series that instill unexpected inspiration... Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 was a good, enjoyable watch with a matching set of music. After finishing the series, I decided to use its momentum to create a mini-concerto form medley of several of the best tracks, the ones that could retell the sentimental highlights formed from the power and passion, the contemplative wistfulness, the occasional tranquility, and the aptly guided heroism. The arrangement is probably my most playable arrangement to date. My habit of pigeonholing overly ambitious, unfinished projects or of transcribing improbably difficult pieces had left my folder bereft of [remotely] playable works, until now, probably. If the piece is playable, it's still probably at least Proficient if not Advanced; after all, it was intended to push the limits of anime piano music. The work is dedicated to those to whom I am indebted and who inspire me: Animenz, KS, MDZ, and Tehishter arranged by their initials to yield "M, K, A, T" - a tasteless wordplay on the pre-medical admissions exam for prospective students in the U.S. Although it is crafted in "concerto" format (generally 3 movements - fast, slow, fast), there are actually 4 distinct tracks that serve as the thematic pillars. Each part that each track embodies is dedicated to one of the four individuals above (listed in no particular relevant or corresponding order.) Note: The Synthogy version is acclaimed for its realism in using more verisimilar sounds than a run-of-the-mill .midi player. It still falls short in that it may take dynamics too seriously and adhere too strictly. Also, it may sound stilted due to inherent limitations when the piano sounds for Synthogy were recorded. The Synthesia version uses a Coolsynth filter, different from the generic Microsoft filter. It sounds more surreal and seamless (i.e. good at capturing part of the intended atmospheres) but its dynamic scope is noticeably more limited than the Synthogy. P.S. Honestly, I don't think I was assertive enough with my music when I first began. That hesitation inhibited the extent of my shared music. I think that was a poor decision but starting now, I will make all official uploads public, midi on this channel and acoustic piano covers on the other channel.
