Just started watching this Anime yesterday. VERY INTERESTING ANIME! It kinda reminds me of Thundersub, another Anime I watched as a kid back in the late '80's. The Battleship Yamato even has a very similar design to that of Thundersub. I wonder if it opens up to reveal a flight deck like Thundersub.

I am really, REALLY glad Japanese and American Blu-Rays are the same region or else I'd be going nuts missing this show.
-
No, they're not watching. They're too busy ripping off TWOK for the third time. And having Spock act completely out of character in the process.
-
Are you watching Hollywood? THIS is how you do a remake!

まったくだぜ…(´;ω;`)
-
It's a remake of the original, but better.
-
I'm gonna miss the Leiji Matsumoto touch for the design of this animation. I like his artwork
-
I watched Star Blazers myself as a kid... was what introduced me to anime.
-
Is this gonna be a remake of the original anime, or will it be closer to the live action version released in 2010, only animated?
-
O.O

Having seen the first 6 episodes of this series as well as having experienced the original run waaaayy back in 79 or 80 I can definitely give this the thumbs up. Absolutely incredible!! (it even clears up the discrepancy of the blue/white Gamilons)

I REALLY hope they dub this in English. And that when they do that it's done right!

あれかな…あの「実写版」が、あまりに…だったので、かえって「本物」を作ろうっていう皆さんの決意を奮い立たせたのかな? 今回の2199はほんとに素晴らしい出来ですね!!
