Space and Time into a single Continuum

Program Description http://13chakras.com/purchase.html Eleven dimensions, parallel universes, and a world made out of strings? It's not science fiction, it's string theory. Bestselling author and physicist Brian Greene offers a tour of this seemingly strange world in "The Elegant Universe," a three-hour Peabody Award-winning miniseries. Part 1, "Einstein's Dream," introduces string theory and shows how modern physics—composed of two theories that are ferociously incompatible—reached its schizophrenic impasse: One theory, general relativity, successfully describes big things like stars and galaxies, while another, quantum mechanics, is equally successful at explaining small things like atoms and subatomic particles. Albert Einstein, the inventor of general relativity, dreamed of finding a single theory that would embrace all of nature's laws. But in this quest for the so-called unified theory, Einstein came up empty-handed, and the conflict between general relativity and quantum mechanics has stymied all who've followed. That is, until the discovery of string theory. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/physics/elegant-universe-einstein.html

It means there is no future,There is no past,There no present, It means we are just in a different frame and consider our self as Present and Backward as past and Forward as Future

Shows that God's plan from BEGINNING to END is already written and out there!
-
So the alien sees future fuck scottie pippen's wife, but she says that's all in the past?
-
Does this mean time travel is possible
-
damn I'm stupid 😭😭😭
-
So are we considering Earth "home-base" for the origin of time in relation to space outside Earth?
-
this is a great

Seeing into the past makes sense, but seeing into the future doesn't. I mean, if we move away from an object we see more into its past, which means if we move towards that object we would see less into its past until we arrive and our now becomes its now. Thus, we will never see into the future. Seeing into the future is similar to the idea of moving backward in time.

Stupid scientists.

I have see the video few times , I'm not a physician but I like cosmology and I try to follow science ! So as I understand the "Now " slices between the man (sitting in earth )and the alien( billions years away )when both not moving they have both same "Now "slices... so doesn't mean and doesn't have to do with the time that the light need to travel from earth to the alien. The alien will always see the past anyway because the light needs some X time until it travels ! But the real "Now "slice for the Alien is the same when both not moving !As long as the alien start moving "with normal speed" the now slices are not anymore the same . That's happen because now the alien doesn't have all his motion through time (as when was not moving ) but also through space ... so when moving through space the time slow down and the faster you move the slowest the time pass. So, When the alien start moving in normal speed in the far away galaxy, will slow his time for just a little bit, that is not even noticeable, but this little slow time change relatively to the big distance between of them happens to be many years difference in the Now slice!is that right guys ?? someone correct if wrong but this is how I get it....sorry for my English

I like how there is a man with a degree in science saying all this, even Einstein said this. But people are saying it's wrong, i think they have the qualifications to say this is wrong or right and not you lol. Plus it's a theory, they are not saying its 100% true. But if you do the math it makes sense, but obviously these scientists are wrong and you people in the YouTube comments are right.. sure

brilliant explanation,,, u nailed it

Man! He certainly takes a relatively simple concept of failure of simultaneity and makes it dramatically confusing. Shame!!
It would have been simpler to give the famous "space-time" equation gamma x (+-VX/C^2) EVEN if it involves an equation. At least it could be discussed rationally as it shows the dependency of time on velocity and horizontal distance and not "loaves, slices, aliens on bikes, gas attendant as a baby" etc etc.
Terrible. -
"Spacetime" or FOS (failure of simultaneity) given by gamma x (+- VX/C^2) is being made unduly dramatic and confusing by this guy who keeps making movies as his research has hit a brick wall.
-
it doesnt make sense at all
-
7:53 I do not agree that the past, present, and future "all exist". Everything still happens at the same time in my opinion, we just might not see it that way.
-
Not only taking Motion into account, but also relative Gravity....

Brian Green is so boring, obfuscating, and annoying: His analogies are idiotic and more incomprehensible than if he actually knew how to explain what is happening in the first place in physics terms.
