Space Ace Arcade Playthrough
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
I was glued to this game when it came out in the mid 80's, even more so than Dragon's Lair, another landmark experimental arcade classic. The music and sound effects are unforgettable as are the memories of growing up with and around the 80's...

So smooth, and the soundtrack is so beautiful
-
I couldn't play this game for real.
-
Whe... ufff... ummm... Where is the gameplay?
-
This needs to be rereleased in HD for every platform possible!
-
How is this game from the 80s, it has graphics from a cd game from the 90s, so what the fuck?!
-
Fun fact: Borf is voiced by none other than Don Bluth himself.
-
I am SO confused, how is any of this a playable game? It's like watching a relaly well animated cartoon. This is interactive?

Even my ADD addled brain can barely handle this

I used to have the Laserdisc of this game. Got it from a guy who had two of them. It played fine on my Laserdisc player at the time and I was able to copy the playthrough to a VHS tape. I've since lost both the Laserdisc and the tape. I remember playing this game at the arcade in VA Beach at a Putt Putt Golf Course/Arcade back when I was in the Navy. Good times.

Ok something has occurred to me while watching this and I have questions1) How did Borf split Ace's light and dark sides? The Infento ray doesn't do that2) Why didn't Borf spilt himself to make himself more lethal to beat Ace? Why stop at Ace?

A game totally built around QTE. No thanks.
-
far out

Don Bluth you're still one of THE GREATEST ANIMATORS OF ALL TIME! I want my breathtaking 2D Animation again! Not this, oversaturated cg crap!
-
Anyone else feel a little motion sick?

Puberty hit Dexter like a truck.

I sunk a ton of money in the arcade on this, then I met a good friend of mine that actually had a Philips CDi and this game, so I got to play a great version of it without blowing all my money.
