Popular myth has it that after this episode, the tons of foam they created caused wet-rot throughout the set floor, whether or not that's true I have no idea, but if it's right, it's rather amusing :-)

5:02 Marshmallow?

Even though this episode retreads aspects of Ring Around the Moon, I find it more watchable than some of the 'better' stories.

This next to, The Black Sun, Collision Course is a favorite episode of mine. It was sad that the space brain had to die.

Watching this with the subtitles on is bizarre and amusing. Especially at 11:05. More work needed to perfect subtitles I think.

I really love the seven minute pre-credits teaser for this episode, the way they show the Alphans relaxing and living on the base in peace before the story kicks off. I like that sense of build-up. Shane (Scott Tracy) Rimmer, Mars the Bringer of War (oft used on Quatermass serials) and...FOAM...often used in Pat Troughton Dr Who stories (such as Web of Fear)...not sure this episode is good, in real terms, but it's way more fun than some! :)

Brilliant stuff

The Music in this episode is very great and dramatic.

Ugh, for a show with such great props, the plots are asinine! The physics claims are wrong, every time Professor Bergman says anything it's stupid, every confrontation or crisis has to involve a melodramatic argument, and nobody respects the commander enough to do what he says if someone disagrees with him. For this episode, I would point out that the chances of Moon being the first object of its size to pass through that region of space must be nill; that's about the same chance as making a habitat survive phenomenal crushing by pressurizing it.

I love the season 1 episodes of "Space: 1999" when Victor was still on the show.

I like driving the moon thru a car wash

I enjoyed this show immensely growing up. We had a directional antenna on the roof of our house. In our area the show wasn't aired. I would fine tune that rooftop antenna on overcast days when reception was especially good in order to pick up the steady but snowy images from a station almost 200 miles away! It's great to see these episodes now with such clarity. Thanks.

I know this show cost 250K per episode, but I hope they at least saved some money on this one`s Mr Bubble special effects.

I never missed an episode as a child when it was first shown on TV. I loved to see each one & was glued to the telly while they were on. Together with "Saphire & Steel" and "The Tomorrow People" It was a fantastic era to grow up in. None of this politically correct insanity that we have these days. I count myself so lucky to have grown up then. These kids dont know what life is all about anymore. Thats very sad.

Yes, Speeta-
Most of the times I saw this episode on TV the beginning would be edited out - it would start with Koenig observing the "hieroglyphics" on the big screen in Main Mission. -
This episode has an astonishingly long teaser before the main titles - six minutes and fifty seconds!
Too bad that the Alphans utterly fail here. -
OMG thank you SOOOOOOOO much for posting these!!!!!
