Nice to hear Martin's views on the series but thought they spent way to much time reviewing Anderson's other series.

Notice how the dubbed Alan Carter speaks French with an Australian accent?

Can't this lady sit still?

According to Robert Sellers in his book on Cult T.V, the making of Space 1999 wasn't exactly without its problems. The author wrote that Martin Landau was ok to work with but that Barbara Bain was a right pain.

bravo Martin Landau

If it wasn't for this show I might not be alive right now. I WAS SEVERELY ABUSED AS A CHILD AND I USED THIS SHOW AS ESCAPISM FOR WHAT WAS GOING ON IN MY OWN LIFE. My father beat and abused my mother and almost killed her on more than one ocassion. She was smart and got away, while I stayed and took the punishment from my father. I THANK GOD EACH AND EVERY DAY THAT I HAD THIS SHOW TO HELP ME GET THROUGH SUCH TOUGH TIMES!

Great ! Space 1999 will always be my best SF series since my childhood . I created my own clothes of the series .

Haha, in some alternate reality, Landau played Spock and Nimoy played Koenig.

Because the only way to get a lunar colony is for a jew to build it as a kibbutz.
What doesn't make sense is for a jew to be in charge over a bunch of gentiles...there is no creating conflict over minority rights to exploit the gentiles, the jew commander wasn't enforcing pornography or usery or other exploitative means against the gentiles...so its not quite accurate -
I think it's funny how the French hostess looks like Boxy from the original "Battlestar Galactica".

I loved this show. I is on hulu plus

Martin Landau has a typical New York accent. I never knew that until I saw these interviews. Interesting how they use French accents for certain characters on the show. I agree with Martin Landau's comments about serving the script and not sticking to the main characters from the second season.
The writers did use 1970s existentialism and psychological ideas as themes for their episodes. -
Really like UFO, but not this. It was the writing, though really how many ways can you have people try to talk them down to the planet of the week? And the weird mystical stuff. Arghhh.

I thought maya was a great needed addition as well as better, more colorful uniforms. I started watching on friday nights at 1 A.M in 1976, I came in during series two and I didn't really like the first series when it was re-runs because there was no maya or tony and who's this bergman guy? :)

Barbara Bain's voice sounds sexier in French!
