That Catherine Schell sure is one fine piece of woman !

{slap}{slap}..."Piri is just perfect for all our needs"
Yes, Catherine is just perfect for our needs, lol -
I hate sci-ri shows where everything blows up or implodes with just one little push. What self-respecting guardian goes to pieces because it's sex-bot avatar takes a money shot to the face?
-
The novelisation had Keonig resisting the Guardian because of his experiences during "Missing Link" (although that was apparently a later episode).
-
The special effects, model work still holds up to today.
-
How did they know the planet's name was Piri even before they landed?
-
The '70s... a time of plastic and of men with hairy chest... If this would be produced now, Alan Tate and the other would have gone through waxing before even considering removing their shirts...

The guy who played the Eagle Pilot Pete was either Piett or Veers in The Empire Strikes Back or Jedi, one of those Vader killed on his Star Destroyer.

I always thought the moral of this story was stay away from drugs!
-
i loved the season one theme music and episode preview.
-
i liked the white balls which reminded me of the white lights from one of the best battlestar galactica two part episodes war of the gods.
-
catherine schell was also a bond girl. i believe she was in on her majesty's secret service.
-
This was something of a fusion of "This Side of Paradise" and "Return of the Archons," with a touch of "The Apple."
Am I weird for thinking that Helena in that miniskirt robe was more attractive than the Guardian's female avatar? -
The eagle was flying around in circles while Koenig and Carter were scrapping.
-
funny how the eagle flies up and down when all you see is that Allan is pushing the controls downwards and how it can fly all by itself while they are fightning :)

'Guardian of Piri' still stands as one of the superior episodes of Year One. How best to dominate and subjugate people....through mind control or brute force?
-
Catherine Schell was not, in my opinion, 'drop dead gorgeous' but she was certainly 'drop dead sexy'! She just had that 'it' quality about her. And I totally agree with Jim Fletcher and 'mrmanofsteele'...Barbara Bain was incredibly insecure. Schell talked about this in an interview (Google the catacombs web site). Bain actually had it in her contract for Year 2 that Catherine could NOT appear as herself, only the ' uglied up' version of her as Maya. Even then, they couldn't totally destroy her natural beauty.
-
Catherine Schell was just wonderful on this episode and as Maya later. We need more like her and less like the usual Hollyweird bimbos of today.
-
Good episode. I really like Catherine Schell with her nice long hair; she's very calming...
