they certainly predicted the technology for 1999, probably spot on!
-
total ripoff of 2001

I was 10 when this show came out, I'm now 52. it was a really good show at that time.

That doomsday clock at the very beginning of this video stops at 13 minutes to midnight.
-
i would love to see a film theory episode on the moons launch out of earths orbit.

This still looks good all these years later. They hit the ground running with this production.
They never mention, though, and I do wonder, how many of the Eagles survived the cataclysm? Every Eagle was involved in the operation at the end. Worse case, they lost every Eagle except Carter's and had to replace all of them! Alternatively, plenty survived, but all the pilots made the same sacrifice as Carter by chasing after the Moon. -
I loved this show. Where I grew up, we could receive only two channels so I rarely got to see Star Trek. This and Quark were about the only live-action science fiction I could watch regularly. After all this time, I'm pretty shocked at how good this was for 1975 -- both production and effects. And Barbara Bain -- I had the worst crush.

Unfortunately, only the first four episodes, put up by this account, are available in decent video quality. Would love to get the rest of them in better resolution.

I love the theme..the wah wah section should be played on a 2 hour loop

I see all the comments on this and other shows of that time and must say that they were so cool then, I was a young man aspiring to be involved in the space exploration! I never got to do it but I became an Electronics Engineer and can tell you, many of the devices that were dreams then are a reality today and I am sure they inspired many young men to create them for you today, I was one of them in the cell phone field!

In 1963, the original Star Trek started. I loved it. After Star Trek there was Mission Impossible staring Martin Landau and Barbara Bain. Not space but still good. Then there was this program, a space program with Martin Landau and Barbara Bain. Who would have thought? I liked this program too. A little disappointed at first, but it grew on me.

Tania should have had a bigger part.

Thanks for bringing back TV when it was good

Loved this growing up

I always thought this show was silly......for one thing the blast that carried them away from Earth was on the far side.....which would have not carried away from Earth but make the moon collide with it......and also a blast large enough to do that would have shattered it......
-
I watched this show when it first aired in 1975. And watching this today, I still think this was one of the silliest and scientifically implausible concepts for a TV show.

"What about Commander Gorsky?"
Man "I killed him and ate him John. He's no longer your worry." -
The producers of this show also were the brains behind THE THUNDERBIRDS.

This show was called "MOON BASE ALPHA" in Australia. Watched it when I was a lot younger.
