The moon would have to travel at ludicrous speeds to leave the solar system in under 3 years, it took voyager 40 years.
-
Ace Frehley as a robot..Ack!!
-
Martin Landau and Barbara Bain are actually married and they have two children, girls. One girl plays Drusilla in the Buffy/Angel series.
-
one of worst episodes of space 1999 second season.
-
Fred Freiberger was the producer of Star Trek season 3 and Space:1999 Year Two. Hence the similarities, Maya/Spock, The Immunity Syndrome titles, anti-Matter, etc. This show was catering to Star Trek fans.
-
The 'love test" was edited to make room for commercials. This scene was not relative to the story.
-
I was a preteen child when all that was going down.
-
I am impressed with your wealth of Sci-Fi knowledge. how do you know so much? BTW, call me Rick.
-
That was quite a good episode from Season 2
Maya is still my all-time favourite Sci-Fi space alien,
and I'm a trekkie -
Eagles were the friggin best, my favorite Sci-Fi spaceship

so he did more harm than good? I am guessing you are older than me. I was just a youngin at the time. I wouldn't have known any of that or the forks behind the scenes.

The science on Space 1999 is a load of Dingo's Kidneys! The whole premise, that a single push from an explosion, would cause them to reach a new planet every couple of weeks is crazy. Just suspend all logic and try to enjoy it. Although this one is a struggle in even that department.

That robot sounds Jewish.
-
PROGRAM HIM WITH THE TEN COMMANDMENTS LMAO
-
At 4:25 it looks like a label on a computer bank says "anti-gravity poo". o.O
-
this is all over analysis. the simple answer is to suspend disbelief.
-
That headlight face Brian was really annoying.

Back on a Saturday evening in November 1978, this episode was aired on WPIX TV. I made an audio recording and listened to it beyond what some may consider safe. If was only after watching the DVD did I find out there was two minutes of footage cut out. I guest the "love test" was not fit for broadcast at the time.
NSFW:
Yes, I even looked up the word "heebie-jeebies" in the dictionary. I guess that today the word would be considered offensive because it would offend Jews "heeb(ie)" and Indians "jeebie" as in (San)jeev or (Ra)jeev. I have to laugh because who was on the set? They were none other the Martin Landau, an New York Jew and Marc Zuber, a Bolywood start from Lucknow, British India! Now that is the Heebie-Jeebies!
Now for a ramble:
Pull the cord on the toy and it says "The Swift goes 'Eww-eww-eww-wooowooo-deww-
deww-deww-deww...'" The sound people must have enjoyed the post-production.
The sound effect used to depict the exotic propulsion for the Swift craft was used previously in Star Maidens. As a gag used in the Mel Brooks movies (orchestra playing the soundtrack in the scene), I would have a bunch of people making strange vocalizations into an electronic reverb box. The camera pulls away to show the effects stage with the vocal artists appearing in the shot. They go silent and then one says "This is Gerry's way to let the audience know that exotic propulsion is in use". -
Brian should have been voiced by Jerry Lewis. Oh Laaaaaaaddddddddddddyyyyyyyyy!
