Nice job. You have a lot of time and money in that system. I would encourage people to use the proper term "current" instead of "amperage" IMHO.

I have a small solar panel system with one 12V/150 watt panel and 12V/24V solar charger/controller. My battery bank is 12V. I'm thinking about getting second panel of the same type and connected with the first one in series to keep the same amperage. Since the voltage will increase to 24V, the controller should be able to handle it. The question is, will I be able to charge 12V battery bank with that voltage or do I have to make the battery bank 24V as well?
My inverter is pure sine 1500 watts/12V input only. For that reason my battery bank must be 12V only.
Also I have noticed the output voltage of the inverter reads only 107 AC volts, although the label on it says 110/120volts. I installed several outlets in my house (as you did) and connected to the inverter with 12/2 romex in metal conduit. Vhen I check the voltage in those outlets, it is even lower, it reads only 103- 105 volts. I check the voltage with kill-a-watt meter. What is the voltage in your outlets? I think it's ok to use lower voltage to run lights but I'm not sure I can plug in TV, internet modem, refrigerator or freezer for a long period of time. I have read some appliances ramp up the amperage to compensate the lower voltage, but it can create heat and cause fire. What do you think about it? -
So i made it too . just by using inplix scripts:)

Is that an adobe or compressed earth block wall? Off topic I know. Great presentation. Thanks.

nice ,you the man , thank you

#Dao Lang solarcity guy said i use 1500kw/month will a system like the one in vid do the job? @Jeff Linke

awesome... thanks for guiding us to j=know more about solar..
-
very interesting.. Now I am more convince to use solar power.. thanks..

very good

I took a lot of notes here. I'm not sure if I know how to put in the fuses, the fuse box and etc. Great Video, but you are way too Smart for Me!

Excellent job in explaining everything you did.

One of the best simplest explanation Ive come across on youtube and fully describes the system for newbies.

I've been an electrician for 26 years. The garden hose is how I taught myself back in 1990 and others since then to describe volt, amps and watts.
Solar power is the next area in the trade I'm learning. You made it so easy for me to learn. Thank you Drew.

I have 2 solar panels on the roof of my RV that charge 4 6V batteries. Everything is hooked up to a Heart 300 Watt inverter. I can plug into the 2 120 A/C plugs on the front of the Heart Inverter and run a number of items. This requires me to use an extension cord because the Heart Inverter is located in the back of the RV next to the 120 V electrical panel. What I'd like to do is connect the Heart Inverter to the 120 electrical panel so I can use the 120 wall outlets instead of resorting to a 50' electrical extension cord.
How would you accomplish this in a SAFE and accepted manor? -
i realy want to learn everything about solar energy from A to Z. i want good books, website, videos, everything. please help cos im excited about it
