Size of planets and stars in our solar system to scale (HD)
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
"The size and the age of the Cosmos are beyond ordinary human understanding. Lost somewhere between immensity and eternity is our tiny planetary home. In a cosmic perspective, most human concerns seem insignificant, even petty." (Carl Sagan) You may think VV Cephei is enormous. You are wrong. It is just a tiny drop on the immense ocean of the universe. "Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people." (Carl Sagan) The phrases are originaly from nixxxon18's video "Planets, Stars, Nebulae, Galaxies - Universe Size Comparison 2009"

Update: VV Cephei A is larger than VY Canis Majoris. UY Scuti (4.6Tm) or V358 Cassiopeiae (11Tm) is the largest star known.

Us and our pathetic energy crisis. All the energy we ever used on Earth all added up is crap compared to what those stars have to offer. Imagine we could use it somehow...
-
They should make a video of how stuff began in earth like for an example how were dinosaures were made.........
-

This is beyond laughable that 1080p looks the same as 240p, but not only that, but the screen is flattened by a bit. Wow.
-
@falley11 VY Canis Majoris is currently the largest star known to man. Period.
-
whats the music to that song
-
canis majoris is smaller than VW Chepei
-
What was chosen as music? Also, afaik VY Canis Majoris is the largest *known* star. You could also consider to throw in a neutron star and brown dwarf for good measure. Other than that, nice video.

2 things first is a suggestion Even in HD some of the words you have there (size in diameters, facts, etc) can't be seen clearly. Second, Could you make another one, but this time make it until the final object is the known universe? It was a bit too short... Great video, other than that
