1. penrose is a great mind however, this stuff is still speculative at best. currently they are mapping the brain functions using mri not at the neuron level rather by area and pathways between them. give brain mapping 10 years with advances in technology, then you can start formulating theories based on evidence. not hey consciousness is spooky and quantum mechanics are spooky hey... they must be related and try and reverse engineer the two. is quantum mechanics involved with functions in the body and brain and everywhere.... of course quantum mechanics is part of the natural world it is not magic. just because we do not fully understand it does not make it magic.
   
   now, consider the great strides and new understandings that have come from the genome mapping. we have had philosophy of he mind for 2500 years and little progress has been made since the early thinkers because it has all been subjective.

Sir Penrose disgraced himself by mixing neuroscience, quantum mechanics and consciousness.. he obviously has no clue about cells - microtubules are present in all cells, not only neurons, and have as little to do with consciousness as membranes, mitochondria or any other parts of cells. The point that all those people who don't understand how brain gives rise to consciousness are missing is that consciousness is not within cells and cells are not conscious. it's their arrangement/connections and the process of interaction that creates the flow of information that is consciousness. just like transistors in the processor are not smart, the processor is not smart, but the software that runs on it can be quite smart and will eventually be smarter than people. it's not about microtubules or silicone - it's about signals and their flow and processing.

9. My understanding of quantum physics is that the overriding and defining ~ we reap what we sow ~ meaning. Is embedded in intent!
   
   Once you move towards the quantum experience, your intention is relayed into the quantum field before you even get there.
   
   What this does, is, it either limits your progress as a civilization or it increases the potential for further exploration of the field!
   
   It is like a maze with doors opening and closing. So for example, if you enter the quantum field which has registered your intention to be greed. Only certain doors will open to you which will ultimately lead to your demise.
   
   There is no passing through the quantum field to a higher paradigm if your papraxis is filled of negative content ~

The problem with consciousness science, whether on the particle level or the biological microtubules level is that it's still monistic measuring matter and energy - CONSCIOUSNESS IS SPIRIT/MIND NOT BRAIN, the part of us that comes from God, not bioelectrical, quantum mechanics or any other kind of brain activity. The fact that you need to search for materialistic evidence in the first place is tantamount to an oxymoron, light on the oxy and heavy on the moron. When it comes to consciousness, science and scientists are stuck on and in the brain and that makes them downright stupid.

There are gaps in our understanding for sure, I'm surprised that Sir Roger is falling for the age-old solution of filling those gaps with wild and untestable conjecture
16. I find it crazy how people seem to reject this theory which has some scientific backing, yet provide no materialist evidence of their own as to a theory of the emergence of consciousness. I mean I don't want to get Sam Parnia involved but him and Peter Fenwick have also done studies on NDE's that subtly prove some form of mind body dualism. I am a skepic and agnostic, but I find property dualism and mind body dualism to be plausible.
17. Truth as a static structure vs a dynamic system. To simplify, think of a
    stack of copy paper with one word on each page. In time, we see each
    page one at a time, outside of time all of the words, on all of the
    pages combine to make a single word. This single word is truth, it is
    the entire story, told in an instant of time. The fractal version of
    this story has another feature. As each page is presented to us, our
    intent creates a slightly new meaning that branches out, changing the
    story, an effect that turns the stack into a tree like structure.
    The direction of time's arrow is the breaking of the symmetry of the
    potential of the boundary condition. In other words, if I toss a coin
    and it has perfect symmetry of potential it will land heads half the
    time and tails half the time. The symmetry of the potential is broken if
    the coin tosses are not 50/50. In a perfectly random system, after a
    sufficient number of tosses, the symmetry for all even number tosses
    would always be 50/50. Coin tosses are a lot like squaring the circle.
    You get closer and closer to the true value but you never reach it, like
    an infinite recursive iteration.
18. he's missing his own point. Where is the spontaneity coming from Roger? Potential cannot produce results. The energy comes from the consciousness. We literally are God - The God. The illusion of the self as a possession of a monkey brain is causing confusion. And then there was light.

You will realise that The Consciousness doesn't own the piece of biology reflected back into that eye. We are oneness. Within the body every cell/molecule has evolved to live, as a matter of Life and death..evolved to a certain absolute perfection/ vibration... this pre materialises microtubules and to behave at the quantum level to become the subconscious and our individual consciousness of our own creation...Not sure about the super position or the collapse as per Stuart Hameroff but its all so Orch OR an interesting collaboration...
