Hello and thanks for the great videos!
What is the difference between double braided class 1 and class2 ropes except for the materials? Why can't I use the same splice on both?
thx! -
Hello, I was wondering if you could do a hollow core rope splice video, it would help out a lot. Thank you

This splice will work for 24mm.

Second, at 10:33 in the video, it asks you to mark the exit point. Don’t mark it. Rather, just exit at that point by using an awl to mark it or just remember that area after measuring. All of the other marks in the video will be hidden upon completion of the splice. You just need to eliminate MARK X at 1:49 and the exit point mark at 10:33 and the rope will appear unblemished after splicing. Let us know if you have further questions 1-800-227-7673.

For the Class I Double Braid, continue to use all the marks as directed. However, for making Mark X (at 1:49 on the video) do not mark, rather just pull out with an awl. The production bench will use an awl and punch it through the rope to mark that point until it is time to reference that mark. It is not necessary to mark X. Just pull the core out of the cover at that point when you measure MARK X.

It is not necessary to make the marks. Our Production Bench will often omit marks so that the line looks clean and blemish free upon splicing. See the comments below for an explanation.

A question: When you're making a splice and don't want visible pen marks on the cover, how do you do that? Is there some other way you could mark the rope that won't be permanent?

and how about a 24mm rope?
