Ripples From The Big Bang: Listening to the Beginning of Time
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
In March 2014, scientists working on the BICEP2 telescope at the South Pole reported an incredible discovery: a swirling pattern in the cosmic background radiation that appeared to indicate the presence of gravitational waves. But do these ripples in space-time hold up under further scientific scrutiny? See a panel of world-class researchers weighing the evidence at "Ripples From the Big Bang: Listening to the Beginning of Time." Subscribe to our YouTube Channel for all the latest from WSF. Brian's speech is slurred.

Now i want to hear about more waves, not the wave that are in ur mechanical dataset. why have you only seen one wave or are reluctant to tell you have seen any more ?.

Does Brian Greene say " Mt. Whistle" at 11:48? hahahah isn't it supposed to be Mount Wilson?

If the infinite universe is expanding at an ever increasing rate,
reverse the arrow of time, and the universe is shrinking evermore slowly.
bangs are not slow. The big bang theory is ridiculous.
Shrinking infinite infinity is still infinite. There is no collapse. The collapse is based upon our subjective limits - the lack of our ability to conceptualize infinity.
I propose that zero point energy not only drives expansion, but also provides for the uniform microwave background. -
its amazing when you watch scientists think loudly

The distance measured between two points (which is called space) is not a "fabric", and the rate of change of relative position of two objects, (which is called time), is also not a "fabric". Just in case any of you uneducated scientist derps are listening, both of those are just abstract concepts. They're not materials weaved from plants. But what do you expect from morons who think that "Big Bang" is the holy gospel.

Thanks for the upload this was a great conference as usual from World Science Festival, you gotta hand it to Greene for being an excellent host - on top of a genius scientist, in breaking the ice and gradually providing the questions for the conference to unfold upon. Good stuff!

O Mankind! where did you come from and where are you going to?
-
I'm I mistaken or did the evidence for gravitational waves discussed here eventually prove to be erroneous?

Tap the side of a round bucket of water. . ..Because there exists only Two Spherical Sine Wavefronts multiplying inward +1=0 now -1 dividing outward at right angles from their source's.. . .And where the Two positive and negative electromagnetic Spherical Sine Wavefronts meet, creates the particle effect.. . .When we observe an explosive de-compression dividing expansion outward from a point source.. . .Such as the death of a star.. . .Then that was the death of that system.. . .And not its birth.. . .Big bang deaths are happening now 360, 24/7.. . .Such as supernovas throwing off rings that will eventually give birth to other systems in their wake.. . .Compressing Energy Contraction is life +1=0 now -1 de-compressing expansion is death.. . .

this is a great conference. Now I understand a little more about the dark science of astronomy.

Andrei Linde you are a true star.

It is now evident that the big bang occured and started the life and still expanding. The question the scientists and some of us ask as to how or did the big bang come from is the faith related. We all know that nothing comes from nothing because cause and effect is present in every aspects of our lives. So then something or a force that we are unable to identify caused the explosion. This force is then becomes our creator. Another evidence is that all created perfectly. Neither soon nor the moon fails to rotate in their orbits. Even their distances are measured perfectly so the life on earth made possible for us. Finally, if you argue that the big bang is just a coincidence then create me something from nothing! create me a mosquito or a small fly from absolutely nothing sustain their current perfect mechanism and i am challenging everyone from here. Or cause the sun to raise from the west instead of the east.

What is the main point or the moral story behind all these comments including the debate of scientists ?
