Does anyone understand the phrase "trying to gild the lily" ... that is what this is ... it sucks.
"To gild refined gold, to paint the lily, to throw a perfume on the violet, to smooth the ice, or add another hue unto the rainbow, or with taper-light to seek the beauteous eye of heaven to garnish, is wasteful and ridiculous excess." -
Love this

The flute playing and string quartet were amazing. The arrangement is awesome as well. My only suggestion would be to use a stronger vocalist or add a lot of vocal harmonies. Unfortunately Ian's voice is not as strong as it was back in the early days of Jethro Tull. I commend Ian for continually exploring different musical configurations for his music compositions. Overall great job!

Just when you thought you have seen and heard everything that Ian can come up with! What a soul cleansing experience! Thank You for sharing...

Yuck ... Sorry Ian used to have a really great sense on how to arrange his pseudo-classical stuff, but this makes me feel like I am being smothered in sugar syrup and Grandma's overpowering sickly sweet perfume - cloyingly sickly sweet. Not to mention IA still has not accepted that his voice is not a plus on efforts like this ... even in the background. Just yuck!
And ... the best part of this song was the wonderful intense and energetic bell instrumental that was classical enough as it was ... just yuck, double yuck! Or maybe it is just that this song is just too good the way it was ... with that cool jazz interlude and the Scottish battle drum against bells ending. -

Now is the season of the year!
-
In its original guise it found itself years back included on one of those compilation releases something like 'Best Christmas Ever' . This time of year you hear it in some least expected places.

Beautiful. And I love watching the cellist magically change her top throughout the video!
