No injuries were reported on the ground after debris fell in flames over the launch site Tuesday evening. (AP / Eastern Shore News, Jay Diem) Attached to the rocket was the Cyngus cargo ship, carrying 5,000 pounds of supplies for the six astronauts currently living on the space station, including equipment for experiments. A NASA spokesman told The Associated Press that there was nothing urgently needed by the space station crew on the doomed rocket. NASA is using the Virginia-based Orbital Sciences and the California-based SpaceX to send supplies to the space station. Until Tuesday, all of the previous Orbital Sciences and SpaceX missions had been successful. Read the story behind the engines used on this rocket. Closed cycle engines are far more efficient but have inherent problems that the United States could not solve, yet the Soviets did. Someone did not destroy all the engines and we got them very cheap. The engineering is good, but things go wrong whether they were purchased inexpensively or purchased at top dollar. jmho.

It is unfortunate, and I feel sorry that this rocket launch failed. But why did the video start at around 4 minutes before the explosion?
