I wanted to be able to have the panel mounted to a tool box in the bed of my truck and wired into my existing RV solar power system. But, also have the ability to remove the panel and use it on the ground as a remote panel. To accomplish this I had to come up with a mounting system and a way to get the wiring into my fifth wheel front storage compartment where my solar charge controller is. For the panel, I'm using a 100 watt Lensun flexible solar panel. Here is a link to a recent review I did on the panel - http://www.loveyourrv.com/lensun-flexible-solar-panel-review/ ----------------------------------- Follow our RVing adventures at http://www.loveyourrv.com and http://rvhappyhour.com Connect with Love Your RV! Cap that plug when not connected or the contacts will be energized when the panel is in the sun..
-
great job.
-
the socket should be on the solar panel and the plug on the rv lead

Clean and neat job. I like it. Do you think you need a drip loop before entering the RV, to reduce any water getting in?
-
you know your stuff brother.

Your videos are great! Thank you. I'm learning a lot. I plan to be full timing by this time next year so I'm gathering as much information as I can.

Ray. finally got around to watching the video. great job, as usual. kinda cool to have seen it in person before the video was published! I'm considering a similar setup for my rv, but with smaller panels so it would fit in my storage bay.

You supervisor could't care less about your job performance! Great informative video man...Thank you.

Thanks Ray. I appreciate the idea. So with 4 panels on top why add another one? Did you need it or just something to do? When it was showing the 27 amps on your Tri Met was that with the other 4 too or just the one. Keep them coming Brother I appreciate the education. Slim

The solar panel cable should have a female connector to prevent shorts from destroying it. The solar controller power input should be male.

Now that you've had the COUGAR for awhile, do you wish you had bought a Jayco with the 2 year warranty, or some other 5th wheel TT?

Is it possible to subscribe to comments to your videos? Or all comments to your channel? It doesn't appear there is an option on YouTube for this? Maybe some RSS application? I learn a lot from comments and it would be a great thing to be able to quickly glance at today's comments and see if someone is giving you some suggestions or sharing their experiences RVing? Thanks

Love the Project. How do you plan to address the fact that the male plug connected to the solar panel will have voltage when the sun is out and un-connected. Hope it does not hit the metal on the truck and short out the panel.
Do love the video on solar. Thanks -
Just make sure someone doesn't jump into truck, drive away and forgets the panel is plugged in!! Nice clean install. Putting out some power as well. Like it a lot. Great job. Vinny
