PlayStation 2 - Sega Classics: Space Harrier 3D (Pt. 1/3)

Full stereo quality: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7V_TDw_YDw4&fmt=18 This is part one out of three of my playthrough of the PlayStation 2 3D rendition of the legendary rail shooter Space Harrier as playable in the Sega Classics Collection, complete with an all new techno/electro remixed soundtrack. Being the Space Harrier purist that I am, I switched off fractal mode to opt in for the checkerboard ground tiles and so that the in-game voiceover still says 'Welcome to the fantasy zone, get ready!'. Note that I do not rate this particular version of Space Harrier highly, as it has lost its speed, edge and difficulty that was present in its original 2D glory. On the contrary, the vibrant colours and the techno/electro remixed soundtrack is a nice addition.

No flame wars on my video comments please. Take your debate elsewhere.

It's not a bike and no he is not supposed to ride it. Didn't you ever see the original space harrier? It's a gun not a bike.
-
Is it me or is the 1st stage boss less menacing here? I mean, even the GBA version looked scarier when it was RIGHT UP IN YOUR FUCKING FACE.
-
..reminds me of the Space Harriers Arcade game outfit and weapon..
-
Where can i find this game cause i really want it.
-
Why is it so slow? On the original Space Harrier, the tree's, rocks etc used to fly past at a blistering speed. This is more like Sunday driver harrier! Soundtrack is pretty neat though :)
-
What is this house music bullshit I'm hearing? Space Harrier II had some of the best music on the Genesis.
-
Where can I buy this game?? I loved the original Space Harrier for Master System
-
a Space Harrier would be great on the Nintendo 3DS
-
good work sega king arcade
-
Am I the ONLY one who doesn't have a problem with this? I like how it looks, how it sounds, and it keeps the gameplay of the original classic intact. Sure, I would like the original model for Squilla, but that's it.

The game looks good, and to be honest i don't see why people bash it, i am very familiar with the original space hairier, and it it a favorite, this looks good to, i wish Sega would make a legitimate complete fast passed next gen good graphic-ed reboot to the series, like make a new one that is its own game and not a part of a collection.

the japanese remake, "Space Harriers" (with an "s") arcade game is way better than this version; it had multi-player, power upgrades, 3 dimensional and everything...i sought for that version ever since i came back stateside and never found it....i guess it was for the dreamcast but Sega had already flopped....i'm still angry about that.

boss1:that dragon is too easy to kill boss2:the leader looks creepy with his statues still easy to beat boss3:wow,this one must be their leader but easy boss4:robots shooting at us boss6:flying blue peanuts.....why not use a giant to eat them boss7:flying pyramids......they should be in eygpt
-
no you know which factories made it wrong the SEGA factory made it wrong because the 3d hologram makings had real world looking creatures made by sega but they are now different made creatures from the original

初プレイでワンコインクリアしてしまったくらいショボかった・・・

@ViperVenom128 It's in Sega Classics Collection for PS2 along with remakes of Bonanza Bros., Outrun, Golden Axe, Columns, and a few other games.
-
Wow this is pathetic, Its to slow for my taste, now the 1985 Space Harrier is a hell of a lot better.
-
@TheDutchGhost Would you for example be able to reach those cities, ruins etc you see on the background of the levels or would they forever be out of your reach.
-
Probably very silly but when I was younger I was always curious of what it would be like to actually live inside the Fantasy Zone. Seems such a diverse world, high tech and mythological.
