Hidden Treasures in the Book of Job: How the Oldest Book in the Bible Answers Today's Scientific Questions (Reasons to Believe) Paperback – January 15, 2014
by Hugh Ross (Author) -
SALVATION for the unbeliever/sinner for today (the dispensation of the grace of God Almighty, Ephesians 3:2,) is in the book of Romans 3:24, 25, 26, in the Pure, All Truth, and All Authority…KING JAMES BIBLE (John 10:34,35, & Titus 2:15,): Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Ironic that many scientists deny the existence of God use science to justify their claim rather than using science to prove that God does exist.
-
Mr Ross , do you mean to tell us that the universe has a use by date?
and that god is going to chuck it out after it has served it's purpose, and then make a brand new one? and you got this all from the bible?
Have you read the bible or have you read into, the bible? -
There are laws that God has constrained himself to follow. If God did not follow these laws, he would cease to be God. The Universe is in perfect equilibrium, now why is this?
-
It's just the opposite. God is the father of all science, because He is the one who put the design into how molecules and atoms work!

And I agree with you. Whether you believe in an old Earth, or a young Earth is not essential to spiritual salvation. You can be a Christian and believe whichever one sounds more logical/reasonable to you. It all comes down to interpretation. But I do think it's important when it comes to evangelizing. Because skeptics often use the unscientific arguments of YEC's to discredit Christianity (or at the very least turn away from it). Ross tries to show that science and scripture ARE compatible.

Semantics mostly. The point is, a fallen state has no bearing on animal death or animal salvation. Eternal life was meant for mankind and nowhere in the bible does it suggest that animals would ever experience this. The bible says that humans were cut off from the tree of life, not animals, and there is no evidence they were even granted the tree of life. It also says that only humans can receive eternal life now (through Christ). So animals likely still died even before the fall.
-
This is really all moot, because it has nothing to do with getting anyone saved (Born Again).
-
Sure the entire world is fallen. Don't you know that it says in Revelation - during the Millennium, that the lamb and the lion will sleep together? This is because satan and his demons are not here to negatively influence everything. Also no one will die during the Millennium, because the author of death, satan, is not here to take anyone out! I'm talking about the people who survived the Great Tribulation and are still in their human bodies. The world is fallen now, because of satan's presence.

Also, the universe IS constantly expanding. The scientific proof is the visual evidence of galaxies 12 billion light years away being much closer together than galaxies 3 billion light years away. But not only is this scientifically proven, but it is also proven via scripture. Isaiah 42:5 says that God created the heavens and stretched them out while Job 9:8 says he spreads out the heavens. There are literally 17 different verses that speak towards a constantly expanding or stretching universe.
-
Sir, the universe is 13 + billion years old based on direct observational evidence. This does not contradict the bible at all, nor is it an argument in favor of evolution. They are completely different topics. Hugh Ross does not believe that Genesis 1 is symbolism. He believes it is the literal word of God which describes actual events. He is merely using a different LITERAL interpretation of the Hebrew word for day than you are. It has multiple definitions! The bible wasn't written in English!

Also, since we all agree that the tree of life was the would be source of immortality for Adam and Eve (and that cutting them off from the tree of life meant death), that is more evidence that animals were never meant to be immortal. Unless every animal on earth was eating from the tree of life also, this was something that was reserved for mankind. I believe that animals lived and died of natural causes in the Garden of Eden as they do today, although without the violence of predation.

It's an interesting debate. But my interpretation is not that the world is in a fallen condition, only that MAN exists in a fallen state. Romans 5 & 6 say that Adam's sin brought death to the world, but in that context it refers to the "world of man". It says death spread to everyone, and death ruled over many. But that is speaking of human death, not animal death. It says that the wages of sin is death, but eternal life is through Christ. Neither of these things would be applicable to animals.

Read the Bible for yourself - what I said is all in there!

Agreed, that's what I understand also. But I'm still open to other ideas if someone can show me clearly in the text (KJV), not simply an interpretation based on their own philosophy.
