This was the best video of G Tube Feeding and checking placement. Thank you very much..! I undrstand the concept clearly now.

Right from the get go, what is a JPEG vs a mickey button? Some people can do more than 50 mls per hour.

There's an awesome app that does clinical nutrition support including TPN and Tube Feeds! https://www.facebook.com/nutricalcapp/

Glove?

you shouldn't hold the syringe too high, the fluid will go down too quickly and nauseate or give cramps to the patient.

Terrible film. If you ,in a hospital have to care for more than 3 patients, who needs tubefeeding, they will starve to death. And no other patients will get help that day :-)
Never have I seen more sadly care for the helpers back. She works in a bad height. Why doesn't she use the bed? It can be brought up to a proper working position. -
Terribly slow. I mean this could have been done in half of the time this video took. I had to fast-forward.

Thanks

I was on a G-Tube for over one year. I NEVER used TAP water!!! Always filtered! Fibersource always constipated me! Senekot helped with that. (When I became stronger I switched to Garden of Life Raw Meal protein drinks blended with 1/2 banana or 1/4 avocado and milk of choice or freshly juiced and strained green juices) Gloves are important always when touching a patient. You may be exposed to MRSA, which I had for awhile. A Lopez valve with an on and off switch is a MUST! Take time with feedings, otherwise the stoma area can leak or the patient can become nauseated. Always flush with fresh water before and after a feeding. Feedings should take at least 15 to 20 minutes, three to four hours apart. This is from my personal experience; I was guided by a dietitian which was very helpful. Keeping a chart of water intake is important also.

Thank you for the refresher.

Forget ausculatating for fluid in lungs she didnt do it to check placement before her flush! ! Tisk tisk
-
nice to watch got information about peg feed want to learn and get certificate .am I right
-
in 5.12, why have to return injection pump the fluid back to the stomach when the reading is less than 30ml? was it the stomach fluids PH is not enough?
-
Auscultating the lungs was not necessary for a stomach insertion of the tube. It would have have been necessary for a tube down the the esophagus.

Thank you for refreshing my skills.
