My father who is undergoing cancer treatment of mouth has a PEG tube for last 8 months. He is now undergoing palliative chemo and is been given Jevity, water and medicines only through this tube. I would like to know if other liquids like clear veg broth or clean juices can be given to give him some strength or nutrients from natural sources. Has anyone tried this or is this recommended as I am now learning of so many side effects of Jevity. Can someone help answer or share advice. Thanks

Hi. I'm able to eat but I've lost a lot of weight & I not that strong. I might consider PEG. But, I've never had PEG. Before I talk to doctor I wanted to do research. (If you very well know PEG. You'd be a great helper in my research.) I'd love to know. 1) If it damages any part of your body? 2) If it's Permanent? 3) After I recover and I'm strong, will I be able to have it out & have normal stomach? 4) Does it damage or leave my throat in pain? Finally, 5) Are there any other risks you know of?

My had this a few months ago and just today they did another procedure to change the tube which of course went well.
