For those who want to play as well you can pick the series up for $1 over on humble bundle at the moment.

I've never played one of these but I feel like the energizer battery probably goes in the computer and that's where you get the codes for time travel and then the unstable ordinance possibly goes in the energizer bunny as like cushion so you can carry it around or something

Oh, man, that 1992-era Sierra voice acting. That really takes me back.
Which reminds me, Paul, are you planning on doing other Sierra games of the era? Their voice acting got better around the time of Freddy Pharkas, or maybe they're just better at goofy wild west accents. :-)
(side note: Yes, I'm aware the CD talkie version of Freddy Pharkas is missing a bunch of the jokes from the disk version, but still, the voice acting they do have is pretty solid for its time) -
The "Taste" action in various areas might provide some humorous results; there's one line from the sewers that sticks with my friends and I to this day, partly because of the narrator's upbeat delivery. "Odd, this rough section of pipe tastes like blood! ...Oh, that IS blood! You've shredded your tongue."

OMG, all these people in the comments being all "Why did you write it down?" I mean, that's how we played these games!
-
So is paul doing all Seven of these then?

At 38:40, I would have just saved the game, and then... well, just made sure not to overwrite that save in case I needed to remember the code.
-
Paul, do you have a mobile phone (with built-in camera)? Why not just take a picture of the code @41:12?

Hey, I've seen this anime! -
My brother and I skipped SQ 2 and 3 after playing 1 in its original form (I think the re-release looks incredibly ugly), and I remember SQ IV being the first game I ever looked up hints for online. We also had to get help with SQ I, but that was before the internet really, so it was more a collaborative effort with my brother's friends at school.

Ah, early voice acting.
