Engineer 775, am so impressed of ur presentations, I have a question for u n wounder if u could help me on this... ok... I have installed in my house three 100 watts n a 80 watts, 2 x charging controller which is hooked up to 2 x 150 amps n 1 x 100 amps dry cell battery which is in turn hooked up to 2 x 2000 watts Pure Sine wave Inverters... but still I dont get enough power to operate my washing machine of 2000 watts... it seems that the batteries dont charge properly ... but I live in the western part of Fiji where the sun is at its best.. I still dont know the total output of this set up.... I fixed this myself n now I have electricity but not enough... for home use... please help me..

how much for your solar system

I purchased a salmex 12v 2000 w pure sine like the one in this video hooked to a 12v battery bank. But the samlex input over voltage light flashes amber at 14.2 volts. Charge controller has to use 14.4 v to charge flooded batteries. I see in the video that yours is not flashing ... Any suggestions? Thanks.

hey, the problem is cost.
solar pannels and other devices are so expensive. -
how do you feel about super or ultra capacitors in a set up like maybe a 24v setup with 2 batteries with maybe a bank of caps to make the draw on the batteries a little easier I watched a video on a guy who had 2 batteries and I think 12 caps and he said it more than doubled his amp hours they were 2.5 volts and 3000 farad I believe

what kind of system can I get for 20k? I will be installing everything myself. with all the different products out there on the market I am at a loss on how to make a choice for all the components, from panels, batteries to inverters, controllers etc.. I am also considering combining this with Hydro, but also trying to decide which one to spend the majority of the money on. I have watched Mr.HydroHead and his system seems that if you have the amount of water to produce that much head there would actually not be much of a need for solar other than as a backup. I could spend as much as 30k if I can power a 2k sq. ft. home and a 3k sq. ft. shop. going with wood heat/cooking but was also considering a wood boiler even though now it will be difficult to find a pre-epa unit. I have also heard that fork lift batteries are good. almost too much information out there. my goal is to be self sufficient and off the grid by this time next year or at least to have all the components purchased.

Will email you THANKS !!

If it will take a generator will it also take being plugged in to home/campground power

Scott could you do this system without the panels or the batteries. I guess it would be basically like an e-panel of sorts would be very interested if that was a possibility.
-
Might be a good fit for people with well insulated tiny homes that travel. Great setup.

Is it true that solar panel prices are coming down?

i would really like to get rid of the elictric bill. i live in the country and pay 80 a month at the least and dont have a clothes dryer, all i really sue is water heater, stove well pump, desktop computer and lights, thats it. so i am really limited on money, what would it cost for this system, seems like this would do me. aliciasantics@alphacomm.net

Hello: I wonder If you would parallel 2 Samlex SA 2000W 24V to get 4000 Watts.
