DIGESPO, an EU-funded project, aims to improve energy-efficiency in buildings by using innovative solar systems that will allow consumers to generate their own heat and electricity for homes and workplaces alike. Solar energy has the potential to provide a clean alternative to Europe's energy supply but further technological improvements, such as this one, are needed to reach EU's 20% energy from renewable target by 2020.
