Nebula and Planets Step by Step Acrylic Painting on Canvas for Beginners
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
In this video, we're gonna get super messy and finger paint! We're gonna learn how to paint a nebula space scene and some planets. This is a good lesson for beginners and up. I’m painting on a 12x16-inch stretched canvas, but you can paint on any type and size of canvas you like. I used: • A 1-inch flat brush • A soft, round brush that I'm not afraid to scrub with • Some kind of template for your planets (I used a paper plate and the bottom of my glazing medium bottle) • You'll also need lots of extra paper towels • Glazing medium or gloss medium I’m using Liquitex Basics acrylic paint in the following colors: • Mars Black • Titanium White • Phthalocyanine Blue • Phthalocyanine Green • Quinacridone Magenta But you can use any colors you like. LOVE LOVE LOVE this technique....hope to see more finger painting in the future. I totally agree with your friend Gwen. It only took viewing one of your videos to realize this was what I'd been looking for! You've brought out my inner artist and I can't tell you how thrilled I am. Thank you so much for your talent and generosity :D

If I don't have a glaze medium can I use a gel medium or a gloss madium.?
-
OMG!! This turned out so well for me!! I am giving it to my grandma for Christ

I had a super hard time blending this out at the end it just looked like really bad blotches nothing even close to your painting so I ended up having to sketch the harsher lines of the clouds out and just go in with paint to make it look like a Nebula. I tried multiple brushes and my paint wasn't drying to fast cause I was still able to push it around it just wasn't giving me the blended shapes I wanted.
