Journey to the Planets aka Voyage To The Planets Have you ever wondered what it would be like to leave Earth? To lose sight of our home planet and go where no human has gone before? Blast-off with Voyage to the Planets: a 6 x 50 minute documentary series exploring the pleasures and pitfalls of travel to the very alien planets of our own Solar System. What strange sights await you? What dangers must you avoid? Voyage to the Planets visits the planets from two very personal perspectives: the direct experience of the people who have sent probes hurtling to all our cosmic neighbours, and the viewpoint of any one of us who might dream of making a trip ourselves. Take a ringside seat to the splendours of the Solar System with Voyage to the Planets: an astronaut's guide to whole new worlds of possibility. A traveller's guide to leaving earth, narrated by Dominic Frisby MARS ---------- Have you ever fancied catching a rocket to the Red Planet? How about road testing an alien planet as a tourist destination? Tonight you can as Voyage to the Planets blasts off from your living room in search of the Solar System's most spectacular scenery and the chance to meet our nearest neighbours. Mars is the ruby jewel in our night sky and arguably the hottest travel destination in the Solar System. Thanks to a robot invasion from Earth that began in the 1960's, we probably know more about Mars than every other destination in the Solar System combined. Not bad for a planet so cool that the average summer temperature makes a winter in Antarctica seem positively balmy. It might be freezing, there might be nothing for a human to breathe, but of all planets we know, this rocky, red one is the most similar to home. Pack a good spacesuit and plenty of oxygen and prepare to be amazed.

After the decisive exodus from Africa some 60 thousand years ago, it's about time homo sapiens moves on to conquer new lands!

OK, so you find some microbes or something alive there, or signs that there was life long ago...SO WHAT! Aside from being interesting to a few academics and scientists, this discovery does NOTHING for the human race. What are you going to do with it? We should be looking for stuff we can use...minerals, energy sources, etc, and not wasting billions of dollars and man-hours seeking something which is essentially useless.

It had water and life. The life evolved with hands, legs and they were intelligent then they got into a war using their deadly weapons they were developing and destroyed all life, the water, and the atmosphere.

I have seldom seen such a boring and stupid TV show from a prominent provider as MARS. Stupid, boring and loaded with commercials.

In my opinion better to try the ring of asteroids that lies between Mars and Jupiter, to select a block of ice, set the charges on them so that they fell to Mars. Thus there will be more water. Her pair raise density of the atmosphere because of which melts at the poles caps of frozen carbon dioxide, and will raise the density of the atmosphere even more. From this it follows that it is possible to use parachutes for landing, no need to carry water to the plant and can be grown in open ground. And if the water will be enough at the equator is reduced temperature fluctuations. water will heat the battery like on the ground. I understand that this is a super complex task can just about no one thought, decided to tell.

We should be going to the Moon and building a base there. That way we would be prepared for Mars which will be much harder and more expensive than going to the Moon.

SEE ...MARS IS CLOSER THAN 4000 KM. WHAT NOW NASA ?
its been in front of our eyes but we never saw it. Look at the video f mine and do the maths. -
We need to travel much faster.. Need for new solutions for propulsion. Otherwise we won't get too far

None of this makes any sense if we have a one-world all powerful government ruling over the world with rich elitist murderers and greedy corporate masters. Our social structure and values are crashing and nobody wants to share wealth. We have to learn to share and play lovingly as a world family not a game of who has the power. Ron Howard should get together with his rich friends and help create a society that will settle on common people getting richer and the richer getting more generous.... then... then we have a chance for all this. Otherwise we are all going to die in a world desert at the hands of corrupt leaders.

I must admit that watching this video has touched my negativity and let's-be-real button (I'm too old/i'm disabled, etc.) to end up on Mars (you've got to be kidding!)...but then, I think of Steven Hawking...who was supposed to have died decades ago - and I think if he can do it, so can I...and he seems to be having a damned good time. One thing I could share with him is my imagination and freedom of spirit. Even if I never set my foot on that extremely dusty planet, I'm there mentally and spiritually. Just watching videos like this, I've been picking up wonderful nuggets of information which I could, perhaps, share with the younger generation...and , hopefully, stimulate their young minds and show they can truly reach the stars.

BS ! We cant even get out. See Orion Scientist explanation. N images fro outer space. Hubble 25 years later not one image, besides it is in the back of a Boeing 747 known as SOFIA. Now what NASA/FOOLS. We are not on a Ball as NASA WANTS YOU TO BELIEVE WAKE UP !
