If Americans fight in WW2 with M16, then Soviets may have been using AK47 during Siege of Stalingrad. French used FAMAS and British used SA80. So, what year am I living now?

BBC space race docudrama was much much better than this Nat geo crap!
-
It's so squished. FAIL.

hey, guys. just to let you know. KOROLIOV was completely different person! he was a victim of repression and spent 8 years in Kolyma, but not the NKVD-terminator https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergei_Korolev
-
This documentary is misleading. John Houbolt was the man who promoted the Lunar Orbit Rendezvous method. His name wasn't even mentioned once.
-
No hate here but the Space Race WAS NOT American genius it was Nazi German Weurner Von Braun
-
who's up for Le Corbusier VS Frank Lloyd Wright?

Pretty disappointing documentary, not very well structured and quite misleading, not to mention the horrible casting.
They've presented Korolev as a designer, when in truth, he was a Technical Manager, an exceptional one at that. He was the driving force. He could have achieved significantly more, had been given the financial and bureaucratic freedom. Contrary to popular belief, the Soviet Space program was a lot more competitive compared to the US. Korolev had to compete with other design Bureaus to get approval. Sad that he died too soon, had he lived, the Soviets may have had a Moon Shot themselves, which was Korolev's ultimate goal as well.
The contribution of Valentin Glusko is also completely missed. His engine design is what made the R-7 possible. Although there was much animosity between him and Korolev, they were a technical force to be reckoned with.
The fact that the R-7 in variant form, is still an active Soyuz space launch vehicle, shows the quality of the engineering that it was subject to.
Finally, its a bit odd that a show called American Genius, doesnt actually have an American Genius in it (Disney aside). -
M16 in WW 2? hahaha I'm dissappointed, nat geo
