The Dragon is far superior and well thought out, it has major redundancies as well 4 of the engines can fail before there is a problem and the chutes need to be deployed.
-
Lol, mars one astronauts will be: Yep, sure is boring here.
Meanwhile 10 km away a giant city having a party with elon musk as dj. -
Elon Musk is like a Tony Stark irl - both make your dreams come true.
-
NASA<Space X
-
l like space x.
because it reusable. orion is good but it is not reusable. -
It's so obvious NASA have economic issues. Just look at the interior and compare it to SpaceX's.

I really want to see Orion make it's first manned flight, but thanks to lack of money going NASA's way, maybe Orion won't get a chance. NASA, an agency of such an amazing history has always been the pioneer of manned and unmanned space exploration. So many intelligent people working there and busting their gut to make a real change in the scientific community and human history. I will always respect NASA for their contribution to human history, and I really hope that Orion will get its chance to take people back to the Moon or to Mars and an Asteroid in the near future.

The Dragon just proves why the private sector can go way beyond the public sector in almost everything.
-
dragon will be better because its not built by the government. Elan Musk should be in charge of nasa we could save billions
-
No one is going to mars looool
-
let parachutes on orion do their work in thin/no atmosphere on mars/moon ;-)
-
it's like comparing a Hyundai to a Tesla

The primary reason why SpaceX is advancing so quickly is because there's no middleman to wait and pay for. With vertical integration, the company designs and manufactures virtually all of the components for their vehicles. This allows for a rapid communication within the company to know what they need and how they need it.
It's similar to how Andrew Carnegie made the price of steel drop so low.
Their first stage reusability should help a bit more. Even if they couldn't just straight up refuel and reuse a returned booster, they could just recycle it. The material cost of the next one would drop as a result (that is if they have a dedicated facility for scrapping boosters) -
Dragon, Elon Musk puto amo
-
Idiot! The Interplanetary Transport system is for send people to mars the dragon is for experiments on mars surveying and sending crew to the is on American rockets instead of 1960's Soyuz from Russia at 50 mil per seat you comparing a hammer and a screw driver at how good they are at hammering argh I am triggered
-
I love Orion but Dragon v2 wins this battle for sure.
-
Why do people think NASA and SpaceX compete with each other?
-
Both!
-
Obviously dragon because being commercial they have an obligation to improve above other competitors but NASA is government funded and can care less about money ( the space shuttle cost 1 billion USA dollar bills per flight) also when your talking about launching a capsule on the largest rocket ever made regularly dragon is the obviously cheaper option.

Anything by Musk tends to be badly-designed PR-driven fanboy-pleasing garbage.
Nasa all the way.
Real engineering beats flashy junk any day.
Don't wish it on anyone but Elon is gonna have the blood of astronauts on his hands if he continues building failing trash...
