The Van Allen Belt is impenetrable! ... ...to one thing only: Free flying elementary particles. Of course you can fly through it. But not without risk. Exposure to radion is always dangerous, and one of the most challenging elements of space exploration. But that doesn't mean that we didn't do it. Just like the high risk of death on long sea voyages is not an argument that early human explorers never sailed anywhere, and that the earth is toally dry. The oceans are a hoax! You see how stupid that sounds??

What mentally challenged person thinks NASA admitted they can't send humans through the radiation belt? The Astronaut is right - AT THIS MOMENT - we lack any space vehicles that can go beyond LEO. We had them in the past (Apollo) and Orion will again give us that capability. The Space Shuttle was limited to LEO due to insufficient fuel/engine power, same with the Soyuz craft.
