Wow ! what a class !!!
-
In the recent stargazing session I attended, it was said, that Polaris will not be the north star forever, our axis is changing very slowly and in a curve like motion. Can someone please explain this?
-
You are amazing! thank you!
-
I live near the equator but trust me practically it isn't the best to look at the sky it's too much cloud
-
I feel smart watching these.

4:42 Urrrgh, sorry, but that part really grated on my ears. Just a quibble, but 1) the term "Dark Ages" is no longer used because historians recognize that it's a very loaded term and 2) during said time period people were indeed scientifically minded and studied the natural world, even if to modern scientists their methodologies were lacking. Off topic but I hear these things a lot and they're not true. Other than that, great vid.

Fair enough.

So people in the southern hemisphere can't discern North Star (Polaris)?
-
realy amazing ... now i am thinking why every star has different color

Thank you very much for making this video, Phil. I though it was really interesting to learn about how stars appear to be moving on the sky and in which patterns they move. I live pretty far North.
I live in Sweden a bit south of Stockholm but the terrible thing is that I live in a city, although it’s pretty small compared to bigger cities in the world like London, New York and New Dehli (in Norrköping, there are only ca. 140 000 people) light pollution is a BIG problem. I can barely see any stars at night and it really pisses me off. This is probably the worst thing with living in the city, although the street carts here are pretty good... -
Thank you, I have to test out of a course. There is so much to learn although I love to watch Neil DeGrasse Tyson this brings everything together.
