Also rocking HD650 and a Unicomp Model M type keyboard. Hate dome keyboards, but I use them and scissor switches at work all day.

Just got my Unicomp Classic 104 with the 103 key option and grey keycaps to replace the beige option keys. Not as heavy and solid as my real 1983 Model M but as a brand new keyboard there's not much better. Very satisfying action and the true original layout.

Lovely keyboard! .
-
I'm getting a refurbished actual Model M soon :>
-
I have a Unicomp keyboard similar to this one. I love how it feels and sounds. It really takes me back to my technical school days when I cut my teeth on the great IBM Model M.
-
Why does it have the 2-color keycap set on a black body?
-
nice hd 650's

The Model M (just like most unicomps) are built like a Tank. They have a heavy metal baseplate and the keys are rated for millions if clicks. Many original IBM keyboards are still used today and if in good condition are actually being sold on ebay for prices a lot higher than a new one from unicomp. I can only hope the new unicomps are as durable as the old IBM ones.

A lot of people say that, but it seems you have to push harder to get a response. I'm just not really all that into it I guess lol
-
Have you ever typed on a mechanical keyboard? it is SO much easier to type.
-

Actually, Buckling Springs have approximately 10 extra grams of resistance compared to Black Alps.
-
I would assume that the Black Alps complicated keyswitch has the same amount of actuation force as the buckling springs but requires the largest amount of force to actuate as one uses it (especially since they have a tendency to wear down and become harder to press down over time).
-
I'm a huge Model M and Model F enthusiast, but I have to say out of all the switch types out there, Buckling Springs are probably the most fatiguing to use, and I say this because they require the most force to actuate. Compared to the quality of early Model M's, Unicomp seems to have cut a few corners, although the typing experience is relatively the same.

Classic keyboard and a classic headphone ;-) sennheiser HD600 /650?? Both nice like the keyboard a nice classic :-)
-
So what's your stand on Cherry MX Blues?
-
if i had to go back to a pre-"Magic Keyboard" id have to go with the old white Apple one. or the aqua. doesnt have the springs, but god it was sexy. and the sound was great.
-
You did, but I still disagree. lol I don't like lots of travel in my keys.

Tank!

These are easier to type on. I actually thought I kind of belabored that point in the video.
