BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter video game and the third installment in the BioShock series. Previously known as "Project Icarus", it is being developed by Irrational Games and was released worldwide on the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 platforms on March 26, 2013. BioShock Infinite is not part of the storyline of previous BioShock games but features similar gameplay concepts and themes. Set in 1912 during the growth of American Exceptionalism, the game's protagonist, former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, is sent to the floating air-city of Columbia to find a young woman, Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for the last twelve years. Though Booker rescues Elizabeth, the two are pursued by the city's warring factions; the nativist and elite Founders that strive to keep the city for pure Americans, and the Vox Populi, a rebel grouping representing the common people. Booker finds Elizabeth to be central to this conflict, and that she also holds strange powers to manipulate rifts in the time-space continuum that ravage Columbia. The player controls Booker throughout the game, eventually working with the AI-controlled Elizabeth. Like previous BioShock games, the player uses a combination of weapons, gear, psychokinetic powers granted through vigors and Elizabeth's own powers to fight off hostile foes and make their way through Columbia. In contrast to the limited spaces of the underwater city of Rapture, the open-air city of Columbia provides for more combat challenges, including combat that takes place aboard the city's Skyline rollercoaster-like rail system. The game will also feature an optional "1999 Mode", harkening back to games like System Shock 2 where decisions made by the player will have a more permanent impact on the game, possibly leading the player to an unwinnable situation and requiring a restart from an earlier saved game. Lead designer Ken Levine was inspired by both historical events at the turn of the 19th century, as well as more recent ones including the "Occupy" protests. The floating city of Columbia was envisioned as a homage to the 1893 Worlds Fair along with other media from the turn of the century, and 2K Marin was brought in to help realize the city in-game. Levine took an unorthodox approach with the voice actors for Booker and Elizabeth, Troy Baker and Courtnee Draper, respectively, by developing the script and details of the story alongside them during their voice work, allowing them to help define the characters and deliver more convincing performances within the game. BioShock Infinite has received early pre-release attention, winning several awards including the "Best of Show" at the 2011 E3 show.

seeing Rapture after all of this... feels like going back to the very first time you hear your favorite song.

What happened to the audio in the beginning? I know its not my headphones, it fixed itself halfway through.

"There's always a Lighthouse. There's always a Man. There's always a City." I guess my theory was right! That's why Elizabeth opened the tear to Rapture. She was showing him his future. That one day, he will go to the Lighthouse, and go to Rapture, but in a different life. That's why Elizabeth (or Elizabeths) had to drown his Booker to prevent him to become Comstock, so that once his timeline is restored, Booker keeps his daughter, Anna but then later on, he dies somewhere between the 1930s or 1940s. And then, he is reincarnated and reborn as Jack. But once Booker is reincarnated as Jack, he will have no memory of his past life as Booker. Like Elizabeth said, she can see all the doors, and behind one of those doors is him. Like I said, this is my theory. There are other theories about it in the Bioshock Universe, but they're hard to explain and understand. Wibbly Wobbly. Timey Wimey

Troy Baker and Courtnee Draper should marry and make singing babies. Just saying. They are awesome together.
-
Damn it copyright. Ruined the Rapture bit.
-
Multiverse doesn't work that way.
If you really wanted to get rid of all this parallel universe bullshit the best course of action would be to kill Luteces. That wouldn't work either because you cannot beat infinite variables, but it's a better plan. -
I cried even though I've seen this Play through on other channels. It's so good and honestly so sad :/ Brilliant.

Upmost respect to the writers of this game. My god this game was incredible. Chris, I greatly enjoy watching your playthroughs. As of right now you are my favorite youtuber. Thank you for playing this absolute masterpiece of a series. Keep making people smile every day.

This game is so inconsistent. When Chen Lin died in one reality he was totally f'd in the others because he remembered dying. Why wouldn't the same happen to comstock. By this games own logic killing comstock in one reality ought to cripple him in all others. therefore after killing him at the fountain they could have just opened a tear to paris, got a hotel and well you know... take french class.

Now, I used to be a huge fan of Bioshock 1 and even 2 but this one spoiled the whole thing for me with this multiple realities stuff. I see that people in general liked it, but to me it was confusing as hell. Sure, this kind of story gives a deeper meaning to the game but it's not what you get from Bioshock 1&2. That's why I'll rate it 6/10.
However, Mr.Odd as usual, is one of the best youtubers and it's such a pleasure to watch him play. Bravo!! -
I'm so confused and so sad, oh my gaaaawwwd!

Christopher Nolan predicted this game in advance. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

I felt so bad for the Song Bird... Such a tortured existence & then having to die like that after fighting so hard to protect her. I think he just wanted to be with Elizabeth, despite his programming ... It was all he wanted & he had to watch the one he loves there, right in front of him, but just out of reach... while he dies an agonizing, confusing, & sudden death. Just so sad... So tragic.

@ChristopherOdd Just wanted to say that I still come back and re-watch this video even 2,5 years later due to your awesome commentary and the sheer epicness of the game))
