This mosquito trap can kill thousands of mosquitos over a few day period. Mosquito zika prevention. Stop chikungunya- Zika Virus. http://greenpowerscience.com/ Zika virus Flavivirus genus is another virus on the rise. Using a Maxx Air Flow fan 24", the Orange one from The Home Depot $99 (EXCELLENT FANS) You can clean an area in a few nights breaking an uncontrolled population cycle. This option requires 250 watts of electricity but does not require any pesticides. The screens serve a dual purpose, they also collect dust and fine particulates and eventually form a mat of air junk. The screen provides an easy cleaning option and prevents dire from entering the bearings of the induction motor. The solar option uses a 27 watt blower fan and works great for pigeon and chicken coops, animal kennels and outdoor porches. Place the fans near infested or high traffic areas. KEEP FANS DRY, no rain. Always Unplug when servicing screens or moving. Place the inlet side towards people or animals so you suck the mosquitos away. This also sucks in carbon dioxide creating an attraction trail for the mosquitos to follow sticking them to the back of the fan:-) I have a few more options in the works: WATER COLLECTION NESTS By placing leaves and yard debris in the bottom of a container and filling it with water, the leaves decompose and provide an attractive spot for mosquitos to place their larvae. Once visible, you MUST collect the larvae with a fine fish net and dry them in the sun. This option prevent mosquitos from nesting in ditches and other areas where you cannot stop the cycle. YOU MUST clean daily or you create a mosquito farm. BATS: I have a DIY VIDEO on how to build a bat house and tips on getting bats to hang out:-) Place the fans near infested or high traffic areas. KEEP FANS DRY, no rain. Always Unplug when servicing screens or moving. Place the inlet side towards people or animals so you suck the mosquitos away. This also sucks in carbon dioxide creating an attraction trail for the mosquitos to follow sticking them to the back of the fan:-)

Call me crazy but why not just attract bats? He said at the end of the video that bats can eat the same amount of mosquitoes in one night.

-
wouldn't it work better if you added a light source or something to attract the mosquitos?
-
Stop this madness everyone!! Just, just stop it!! Only some mosquitoes are the cause of spreading the Zika virus , not all of them!! Yet we want to just generalize all mosquitoes as being "bad insects" . Please people, let's stop the genocide. #MosquitoLivesMatter #PinheadBabiesArentThatBad

I'm curious as to how often you run your fan there where you did your demonstration to keep it virtually mosquito free? And in general, how big of an area does one fan control in a 24 hour period?
-
Do it every day to and make a lot of compost/ fertilizer methinks :)
-
we a huge one in every town make mosquitoes extinct
-
What side of the fan do you place the screen on? Thank you

I've seen concerns about the cost of the electricity. The 20" Dayton box fan uses 0.85 amps at 120 VAC at the highest speed. That is a power consumption of 0.102 KW. If you run the fan for 24 hours it consumes about 2.5 KWH. If your power company sells you power at 12 cents per KWH the trap will cost you about 29 cents per day to run. That's not a big deal compared to bug repelent and a tiny deal compared to catching West Nile, or Zica fever, or Chikungunya, or Dengue fever.

yes for a small fan. ..look at the large one's. ..you think you can store so much energy to run it all night long in the regular car battery??? -
hey man great job what a clever idea! it makes sense! when you leave the trap out are they going to be attracted to it or do you have to leave something out there with c02 or something?
