In this episode/review, I begin the first few turns of the Sakkra Brood in Master of Orion. Skip to 17:20 to bypass game setup and introduction. However, the bulk of the episode focuses on my review and impressions coming out of early access and my thoughts on how Master of Orion fits into the legacy of Space 4x games. I compare it to its contemporaries: Stellaris, Stardrive 2, Master of Orion 2, Polaris Sector, and Distant Worlds. There are other Sci-Fi 4x games I will not discuss, such as Galactic Civilizations. You may safely assume that I find those games: sub-par, not true 4x, and/or underdeveloped. Particularly, I have no interest in comparing GalCiv based on what I've seen of it (and I have watched complete game plays). However, I will respond to any comments regarding it. That's perfectly fair. Just for me, personally, those other games don't enter the arena. I don't consider them contenders. To sum it up, I am still awaiting the Messiah of Space 4x. The one game that will truly take the genre to its next level. I hope Master of Orion will be that game. I doubt this will be a regular or everyday series. We'll see. At the moment I plan at least once/week but may bump it up to thrice-weekly depending on response and views. Last but not least, thank you to everyone on Steam who's contributed to this discussion with their thoughts on their favorite games. 8/31/2016 Thanks to everyone for the interest in this video. It's very humbling. I regret now that I didn't edit it and polish it beforehand. I had no idea it would generate so much interest. Again, thanks for visiting the channel and checking out my video!
