Olympus Mons is a shield supervolcano. Unique for its class
-
Mount everest is not even half the size of olympus mons
-
Is this available for tourists? I mean is it still undeveloped like the summer resorts on the Black sea? I think this has potential, would like gladly to visit with my wife.

and also volcanos
-
right olympic mons is a dead volcano but is smaller but is higher than any mountain in earth
-
CGI and illusions
-
Olympus mons is gigantic because there's no sea. Try taking out the sea here on Earth. Mount everest would be a big as olympus muns
-
Olympus Mons is a dead volcano and therefore the entire mantle and core of the planet is too cold to produce any kind of volcanism
-
I have a pimple on my ass cheek that's way bigger.

Hey, I'm learning about volcanoes!

I use to have this horrible dream that Olympus Mons and the other three Volcanoes, the ones forming that triangle.. had Giant insects in them!!! It wasn't a volcano, it was a NEST! Terrifying.. finally I would relax rather than panic, and I found that they were incredibly intelligent and very caring.. then they stopped. Ahh the mind of a child.. I didn't even know about "Olympus Mons" at the time.. really weird..

second highest mountain in the solar system.

It would take 3-4 days to hike across the crater if it was on earth and at a lower altitude. Just putting that into perspective.

For all you wingsuit enthusiasts, the atmosphere on Mars is so much thinner than on earth,it would not matter how much higher you jump from. All you would do is free fall headlong into the ground, skull first. But maybe if the wingsuit had a wingspan of 50 ft. or so, may cushion he impact but not by much.
