Considering the fact that this an early MegaDrive title, the framerate doesn't seem too bad. Especially with the fact that SEGA managed to pull off the neat checkered-floor effect similar to the arcade version. I do have to say the music is a bit bland though.

According to the ending here, Space Harrier 3-D is a predecessor to Space Harrier.

ever since this game i didn't find anything that moved me as much untill Rez for the dream cast came out then i quickly became hooked on that ;)

You can definately tell they didnt know the system as well in the earlier stages as they did at the end of its life.

I agree. The premise of this game is ludicrous: A planet named Fantasy Land is invaded by aliens, who for some reason have giant frogs, living stone faces, demons, dragons, possesed samurai armor and frickin' clams amongst their troops, and a single sci-fi soldier with a very impractical looking rifle destroys them singlehandedly while running across the surface at near Sonic (yes, I mean the hedgehog) speed.
My best explanations for this are:
A) It's all a virtual reality, a game within the game.
B) Harrier is trippin' balls. -
