Living in a Solar Powered House- Unique Week Day 3 | EpicReviewGuys
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Having solar panels on your roof and being on the city power grid gives you the best of both worlds. A lot of the time you can know that most of the power you are using in your home is being created from the sunlight on your roof. And at night the lights and TV still work- as you are now using power from the city. Economically putting in a home solar installation is only advantageous if there are rebates and incentives to help offset the cost, but you can always do it anyways if you feel it is the right thing to do. this guy hates his neighbors, but I like his video.....
-
I just found you, good video how your solar system holding up?
-
darn those one-upper neighbors! lol that was funny!!
-
Very area is different, but what are your utility's charges and fees for having solar panel system, that a 'normal energy consuming' customer does not pay?
-
Nice one, solar pv system of this scale is still very expensive in my country.
-
Wow that was a great explanation. Especially towards the end. Much appreciated!
-
how much would the total cost to set all this up in us and Canada roughly
-
How much did this whole setup cost you?
-
Why do they bother splitting the power between the house and the grid? Just send it ALL into the grid.
-
I'm not sure about the whole, "it operates at a loss without incentives" part. I'm having a 6.6kW system installed for 20K, even without incentives or selling SRECs, I'll break even in about 15 years. Tax incentives bring that down to 10-11. But they're good for 30+ years, so, it's a win even without the government returning a little of my tax money to me.

Dis ist okey ? https://youtu.be/XjKnP38pE2M

so going solar is a burden on your fellow citizens or it's not worth doing..... I've been here for about 20 years that solar energy is like free energy energy of the future what year is the future going to be here
-
It's all great until a hailstorm.....

Im thinking if its worth it for me to get solar power. Right now after the Renewable Energy Tax credit I could get a great system for $10,000. Is it worth buying if I decided to sell my home 10 years from now? My home is already energy efficient so installing a 5kilowatt system would almost give me no power bill. Will I get any return or will it just be money out money in.

till recently germany had the most number of solar panels in the world (40gw) , now china has overtaken germany, but they are 1.5billion
90% of the countries in the world get more sun than germany
seattle even gets more sun than germany
so if germany can do it , everyone can -
thank you so much, we live in Austin too!

At about 2 cents per Kwh who needs solar. Try 15 cents per Kwh in SC and brutal summers to make that PV system seem worthwhile :)
-
Great video thank you
-
Here in San Diego the lowest utility kwh cost is now 19c! Yes, that is so called "off-peak" only from midnight to 5am. The high summer rate was 50c last year. With an electric car we had to buy solar, a 4.5kwh grid-tied system for $15k and it produces 100% of our needs. After the 30% tax credit the payback is only 6 years.
