The Hubble Telescope found more evidence of vast plumes of water bursting through the icy surface of Jupiter’s moon Europa. What does this tell us about the potential for life on Europa? Jupiter's moon is emerging as one of the most likely places in our solar system to find life. Why do we think Europa is such a good bet for extra-terrestrial life? What would might that life look-like? And how soon will we be able to confirm this? After we discover alien life it won't be long until we're either trying to mate with it or eat it. This is what I learned from James T. Kirk who may or may not have been a real starship captain.

I know that alien whale! :D That was such an awesome book!

ALLAH AND HIS ANGELS CREATED ALL THAT WE SEE AND DON'T SEE...GET THAT THROUGH HEAD!

For crying out loud.Just land a probe on Europa and check the brow ice.It will be full off frozen microbotic life.No need to drill down.

Wächtershäuser 😂😂😂😂
You pronounced that so funny. -
NASA should team up with SapceX and the ESA for this mission. If we can get multiple space agencies, we can split up that weight.

Was a Superdeterministic video ever created?

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say life as we know it on earth? It could very well be that what's harsh and unfavourable conditions for us are exactly what other forms of life need to thrive.

I am the ONLY intelligent for of live in the visible universe.

this guy sounds like expergamez

How much would the pressure be at those hypothetical hydrothermal vents though? For Europa we're hoping to find extremophiles of some sort (according to our understanding of life, more like polyextremophiles) such as thermophiles, halophiles, acidophiles, and anaerobes -- could these theoretically withstand intense pressure?

This guy is like a Carl Sagan of our era, only more physics-minded. To his credit, he admits when he makes minor errors, and corrects them.

You expected to find extraterestrial life, but instead it was I, DIO!

I'm way more excited about Titan. Mainly due to the possibility of life drastically different than that found on earth. The fact that Titan has such an active atmosphere and some of the things we expected to find for that form of life were found already.. I'd love to see a real effort in looking at Titan.

The James Webb telescope should have a high enough resolution to survey Europa from its earth-moon lagrange point. Its not ideal since Europa is tidally locked to Jupiter, but it may even have a higher resolution than Juno, which orbits Jupiter away from Europa's orbital plane.

Did you smoked any kind of weed before doing this

There are volcanoes. They don't always erupt. Find one like Mona Loa and go in there, in between eruptions. You're in.

Space-whales, the answer is space-whales...

Are we really going to send probes to disturb mighty Cthulhu's slumber? Is this really our best idea?
