Let's Play Space Ace - Dexter run
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
This is a playtrhough with commentary of the game 'Space Ace' for the Philips CD-i. In this run I will stay as Dexter as much as possible and will not energize into Ace where possible. The scenes will differ a bit if you play as either Dexter or Ace. Dexter's path is a bit easier, with less commands. Ace's path is slightly more intense with more actions and faster timing required to finish the levels. Most of the time Ace's route looks cooler with more action... and more stuff blowing up.

What the hell is ace saying at the end? When he's replying to "can we keep him?"
-
Well, they also said Return Fire was also pretty impressive.
-
Star Control II, on the 3DO. That was probably the best reason to buy a used one.
-
I love how, during that final level as Dexter, the game just repeatedly blinks at you to Energize, then it goes ahead and does it for you anyway. XD That aside, very nice run! I've never seen a Dexter-only run of this game, so this was a real treat!
-
Probably one of the few good things about the CD-I... and the 3DO, but don't get me started on the 3DO itself... *shudder*
-
Yes, it was indeed!
-
:-) I like this stuff... Was Space Ace also done by Don Bluth Productions??? Excellent vid!

6:43 YOU WILL DIE!

the only CD-i game that was actually a success. xD
-
If CD-i was good at one thing, it was video playbaack, thus these kind of games were great for the system and they were the best home ports out there for a good while. They are still ports though, so they have some alterations from their arcade originals.

@AtsumaKarin and to echo what Toshimi said: I was thinking the exact same thing. VERY ironic! :P
-
I was looking through your playlists and saw this. I was thinking: "how can an entire playthrough be so short?" Then I watched the video. :S That's one weird game. The ending especially was effed up, to say the least. Your commentary sounded like you were spouting off a series of cheat codes! ;) Oh well...time to watch the other route now.

@TheCrackerSoup Thank you very much for your positive feedback, it's very much appreciated and I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
-
I like your reviews on this stuff. Unlike most gamers try to talk to have conversation and as a result sometimes speak over what t hey are saying, you explain how to play the game as well as staying on topic. Nice job man.
-
@Toshimi1043 He does actually sound a lot like him come to think of it lol.
-
Funny how Dexter sounds so much like Mandark.
-
@acj540 Yeah the game is really fair like that, could have used a lives left bonus!
