KSP - Fully Recoverable Rocket [kOS]
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
My initial plan was to rebuild the rocket and launch it again like I did in my reusable first stage video but the docking ports and KAS weren't cooperating. The whole thing is connected with my dockable fairings and shielded docking port so in theory the whole rocket would be reusable. My custom parts used here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/49035-WIP-Bahamuto-Dynamics-%28Dockable-Fairings%29-9-17-13 Game: Kerbal Space Program by Squad (kerbalspaceprogram.com) (http://buy.kerbalspaceprogram.com/aff_c?offer_id=2&aff_id=1078) Music: "Accoustic stuffs" by me.

How did you control and focus on two ships at once?
-
you should work for SpaceX
-
Awesome
-
awesome, simply awesome! gives me an idea for a chalange; the chalange is to master k-OS.. this is gonna be tough..
-
Did this with FMRS :D (My top stage had a nuke so it didn't orbit xDDDDDD)
-
This is super inspirational to me! Thank you so much for making this program and video! BTW what part was that that you used on the 2nd stage for a heat shield!?

Amazing
-
Hi how to activate [kOS] ?
-
Best design
-
Really nice execution. :)
-
How did you manage to tell KOS where to start the decent in order to land exactly to the station?
Thank you. -
this is just the SpaceX idea but put to use in KSP.
am i right ? it's a beautyfull idea that will push the cost of 'space travel' way down :D
with the re-usable stuff :D falcon 9 and the Dragon V2 -
How did he control two rockets at once?
-
it's amazing

OMG I forgot, how the Kerbin looks without those clouds.
-
which engines are you using? i also only work with reussable rockets.

As someone who greatly prefers to avoid Kessler Syndrome, I always try to design my ships in one of two ways - so that stages will either fall back and burn up or be dropped on trajectories that crash them into some body, or so that a stage left in orbit has enough fuel, power, and command function to allow it to deorbit on its own. I've put parachutes on things in the past, too, with the idea that if I can test-land a spent stage safely back on Kerbin once, I'll simply assume that's what's happening to every such stage that I send on a reentry course. Maybe when the economy gets added to career mode, if they give you money back for recovering ships, then I'll actually follow them down and do that. But this ship literally blows away everything I've done.
That is an AMAZING design. Reminds me of the Grasshopper / Falcon 9 from SpaceX. Too bad you can't actually have something controlling the first stage and landing it autonomously while the second stage continues to orbit, etc. I know there was a mod that increased the loading distance tremendously, but the active craft would still probably get too far away... The maneuvers on landing each stage looked very precise - I know MechJeb's landing guidance can set well designed craft down with near pinpoint accuracy, but it sounds like you wrote a kOS script. Kudos on that, and are you willing to share it? :) -
You deserve so much attention considering you are so talented. Definitely liking, favouriting and sharing.
