Matt Bulock- Perhaps you have chosen a board already, but in case you haven't, I must say they are both great boards. I personally own a Triton LE 88 and an M50. I don't know exactly what kind of sounds you are looking for (sample or synth sounds) but given that you're in a metal band, I'd recommend the M50. The Triton is great for ambient, dance and pop but the M50 has some more edgy synthesizer tones that may work better for metal. Plus it's got some really good pianos and organs. They both have a lot of the same multisamples/ waveforms, so they have many similar presets, but the M50 has a better (cleaner) sound quality (the Triton is a bit muffled). Plus it's got the touch screen which makes editing the tones a lot easier and you don't have to overwrite the presets if you don't want to. Also it's got a number of waveforms from the Korg Wavestation (and Prophet VS) for creating really biting leads. I'd also check out the Roland's new Fantom keyboard, the FA 06/08 which uses the Integra7/ Jupiter 80 sound engine and concentrates very heavily on the synthesizer end of things and has a lot of vintage analog type tones. Stay away from the Korg Krome- it's great on the sample end, crap on the synth end.

If I`ll connect bass pedalboard (PK-series, model5/6/7/9) by MIDI Input - may I set any tone, or will be piano sound only. ??. I think yes, cause it is multitimbral (like Roland JV-35/50 for example). Or am I wrong ???

I heard Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park used a keyboard like this.

Should I get a Korg Triton Le 88 or a M-50. I play in melodic metal band so I want alot of synth sounds.

nice one, i have this keyboard too, he's using the first combi as you turn on the keyboard, it's under Combi - Bank A - 000 = Ballad Layer EP I usually play with that setting too it's very nice, but you can easily change some instrument or style for it to make it different. Nice playing, bye!

Hey, just wanted to let everyone know I've left Open Labs and started a new company called Music Computing. Check out the new gear at Music Computing or click the link below for videos. - Thanks, Victor Wong

awesome playing and video guality. I have a question, can you program the keyboard to change from one instrument to another quickly, I mean for instance frome piano to harpsichord and then to strings and then to lead by only pressing a button? and what's the limit of instrument you can change to by pressing a button? I need a quick and instant change for live gigs
