Kerbal Space Program - Realism Overhaul - 550 tons to LEO
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Someone asked me to build a Sea Dragon rocket during a Twitch livestream and I decided to do better - build a more efficient rocket using real engines that could carry the same payload to LEO. Thanks to SQUAD for making this marvelous game, which you can get at http://buy.kerbalspaceprogram.com/aff_c?offer_id=2&aff_id=1118. Also thanks to all the other KSP players on YouTube and Twitch who gave me the inspiration to do these videos in the first place. If you enjoyed the video, please click the 'like' button so that I know what you'd like to see more of. I plan to continue uploading videos regularly in this save, so if you want to follow along, consider subscribing. Comments are welcome! And if you have any suggestions about what I should do next, please mention them.

The Navy doesn't build $60B ships. They cancelled all but 3 of their new destroyers because they were too expensive at $3B a piece.

Why did you launch the nose thing in second stage? What was the purpose of it?
-
Oh yes! Finaly someone makes a video about the sea dragon

I don't undertand how you can manage to have so much going in your game with more than 1 frame per second. What are your computer specs?
-
Nice to see another SSTU user.
-
What mod are you using for everything.
-
Great video ! What mod are you using for your apollo CM you use at the beginning ?
Thanks a lot ! -
I'm pretty uninformed about rocket designs but what makes this rocket so unrealistic besides being so large?
-
For the service module engine lighting itself; I would guess you are using an out of date version of TACLS. That was a previous bug in TACLS that caused staging of engines on launchpad load on parts with TACLS modules.

From what I understand of the BFR architecture that first stage will have something like 30+ Raptor engines and but 250+ tons into LEO. So we may see ridiculously big launchers again!

"once upon a time this could have been seen as a reasonable rocket"
