Kerbal Space Program kOS Automatic Landing Test #61
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Here's another update for my automated landing program for rockets in Kerbal Space Program. There are still many improvements to be made, but it's really starting to come together at this point. Next step will be to add "boost back" and deorbit programs in order to create a fully automatic landing system. This is veeeeeery cool.

That was awesome man great inspiration!

How did you get your LiquidFuel bar so wide?

I would totally follow, watch and even support with money a good kOS tutorial video series!, I totally need to learn to use it to help me steer bipedal robots. Doing it manually is a pain!
I've started to use it, following the documentation tutorial and made a few simple launch and land programs (with chutes, nothing fancy). BUT!, what you guys do with this is so amazing I can't play KSP without knowing it :p
Congratulations, it's awesome! -
Nice work. Really impressive.

Seems to use a lot lot more fuel than needed. Control surfaces + FAR ability + Suicide burn would seem like the "goal" of this sort of landing pofile wouldn't it?
-
Nice work!

It works but 'hover' isn't the optimal solution. Try a suicide burn.

places hire for things like that... http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/posting.html?id=1400050

Have you ever considered making some beginner kOS tutorials? I know I for one would instant sub. As big and interesting as kOS is, it doesn't have many beginner walkthroughs.

I'm finally making some progress with my automated rocket landing program. The eventual goal: fly a rocket into orbit and then land it back at the launch pad.
