Kerbal Space Program - Interstellar Quest - Episode 96 - Testing The Warp Drive
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
The breakthroughs have been made, technology has been developed which will allow spacecraft to exceed the performance allowed by newtons laws and instead ride along a warped hypersurface in spacetime. This first test flight is short, and sub-lightspeed, but it's a huge step forward.

Anyone have links for this mod. I downloaded something which said it was this, it very much wasn't.

No matter what I do, I never can charge the warp drive! WHAT DO I DO?!?!
-
Exotic Matter? More like Exotic BUTTERS!

Another absurd, handwavey warp drive "technology". Yawn. Wake me up when everybody finally realizes there is no FTL, there is no interstellar travel, and there is no hope for humanity's survival.

Floppyship!! flop flop floppyship!!

So... why is no one interested in slower than light warp drive? It's guaranteed to not violate causality, at the very least....

Can you give a stock ?

Lol! You call Minmus a planet and then you call Dres a moon

MAYBE USE YOUR PGMING & NARRATION ( MORE SPARINGLY) to do a FTL tour of the universe,,like alec baldwins 'tour of the universe, too damn many stops at the nine planets we already know pretty well,no cartoon guys,, clean up the controls obscuring the visuals,

u talk too much

Wait. Wait. WAIT. Alcubierre drives effectively travels FTL. If two observers who passed each other at a point where their clocks read 0 at the time they pass each other. At some point in coordinate time, the person who passed the other (in some reference frame) will be seen as having a clock that ran slow and is currently behind the coordinate time. Send a message to that observer using the Alcubierre drive with an effective velocity approaching infinity. Almost instantly the message reaches the outgoing frame (from some reference frame), and from the coordinate frame the signal will have arrived at around the time it was sent. In the outgoing frame of reference the signal is received at some time; but the coordinate's clock appears to be running slow. The outgoing frame sends a message to the coordinate frame; which travels almost instantly, reaching it at a time before the original message was sent. Causality violations?

ok im going into deep stuff here but imagine a future where we do this and become a type 3 civilization. this sounds like an awesome future. the question is will such a future ever happen for us.i mean in that scenario our technology has advanced so much it has elevated us to a point that compared to where we are now we would be godlike. unfortunatly if you think about it by the time we get that kinda tech i think we will have to deal with AI uprisings very frequently.

Scott, I've figured out a way to update the game without needing to use in game currency for career mode. You'll need to go into the parts database and change the cost for all the parts to 0
