Jupiter and Venus conjunction
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
This video explains the spectacular conjunction featuring the two brightest planets in the sky, Jupiter and Venus, visible now until at least March 17th 2012. Erratum: The magnitudes (apparent brightness) of the planets given in the video should have been preceded by the word 'minus' as in brighter than -1 for Jupiter and brighter than -4 for Venus. Hi, I would like to buy a telescope for home use. What would you recommend? To look at the moon and stars. Thanks.

Hi, its a modern copy of James Ferguson's Orrery from about 1760. There is a more detailed video about it on our channel. The A&NC.

@JustWickedSwede Lucky you....I need to get a better than standard lens. The barlow from what I've read will give you nice shots but a little fuzzy...but the 6mm occular should be awesome viewing! This is the year to have a telescope.

Watched venus and jupiter last night :-) I just bought a 130mm reflector and I've seen the moons and bandings of jupiter. I can't wait to get my 2x barlow and 6mm ocular so I can see it more clearly :)
