Journey to the Edge of the Universe (Sean Pertwee) - Full HD 1080p
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
National Geographic presents the first accurate non-stop voyage from Earth to the edge of the Universe using a single, unbroken shot through the use of spectacular CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) technology. Building on images taken from the Hubble telescope, Journey to the Edge of the Universe explores the science and history behind the distant celestial bodies in the solar system. This spectacular, epic voyage across the cosmos, takes us from the Earth, past the Moon and our neighboring planets, out of our Solar System, to the nearest stars, nebulae and galaxies and beyond - right to the edge of the Universe itself. When you finish this video, you will walk away from it with an awareness that you never had before, of the unseen astronomically massive universe that we float around on like a spec of dust in the ocean. This video takes you on a journey through the universe as if you are watching a Sci Fi adventure. Yet you constantly have to remind yourself that what you're seeing is really out there.

Our observation IS the event horizon. Our mere existance that's sandwiched between the sub atomic world and cosmic big bang is the only thing that makes our life seem significant. Otherwise the mere vanity of it all.

TL; DR version: thank you thank you thank you! This documentary changed my life and my love of learning!
This is the documentary I found on NatGeo in the US (Alec Baldwin narrating obviously) and it made me OBSESSED with astrophysics and cosmology, a subject I had never been able to comprehend or really took a deep interest in bc honestly, space scared/scares the shit out of me. The Universal Studios Production intro on films really scared me when I was younger, seeing earth just hanging there so tiny surrounded by that black vastness.
Neil Degrasse Tyson & this documentary turned it all around for me & now I'm an NDT fangirl & in love with the cosmos and all it's hostile beauty.
It also made me see how right I am in my personal atheism... and I wonder how anyone can watch this and still believe in a god who created earth... our cosmos is deadly and uninhabitable yet absolutely glorious in its danger.
I fell in love with science outside of the medical field and now I just want to learn and learn and learn 😍🎓🕵🏼♀️🙋🏼🌌🔭.🔬📝📔📚📚📚 -

how fitting to see the son of the doctor narrate this, its almost like a homage to his fathers renowned character
-
The dude talking sounds like Joseph Morgan (Klaus from Vampire diaries/originals)
I want to have sex with him. <3 -
the thought of human life meaning absolutely nothing to this universe is absolutely mind blowing. All of this will happen still long after humans and earth. Its insane to think this happened all on its own. What is life.
-
The score is annoyingly louder than the narrator's soft voice making it hard to understand some of his words.

I've been searching and waiting so long for this! The explanation of everything, space and time. I think now, I could actually pass knowing that, other than multi-universality, I saw the true hand of God and the coalescing of Nature and Time.
